Chop your vegetables on Tuesday and put them in a sealable bag. For onions, put a moistened paper towel in as well to keep the freshness.

When I made one years ago I used a single sheet cut to size then sew on a gathered skirt around edge, of fabric I purchased, which measured twice the circumference of the bed and the width ,of course was from just above BASE height and to the the floor. But you could just make a wide -very gathered ruffle of fabric ,that has elastic along both sides, which would hold it in place, but you would need to make it perhaps two and a half times the circumference for a good ruffled effect.

Candye's name is as sweet as she looks. She looks like a doll.

Well those little bandits sure did mug for the camera!! I have some here in Missouri that come out and the young ones are so cute. I know they can be a problem to some but here I just toss them scraps near the trees in the winter months. They have not bothered my dog and do not like it when he barks at them, they run and hide in the woods.

I bring hummus which you can dip pretty much anything in for a light meal: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. I like to put hummus on romaine lettuce and roll in some turkey, ham, roast beef and some sliced cheese (swiss, cheddar, pepper jack, monterray jack, etc.) for a really good roll up sandwich. No bread needed. If I want bread I put it all inside a tortilla. I bring stuff to put in salads and just get a house salad from the closest restaurant. I like to bring mandarin oranges, cranberries, and some kind of nuts on the salad. Sometimes I bring dried bananas for it too. That mixture also makes a good snack and goes in my oatmeal in the morning. I usually have one container with some frozen casserole which I take to the front desk to have microwaved if I can't get a microwave in my room at request. After I eat I leave my cold foods at the front desk. I have them freeze the meats and casseroles and refrigerate the rest. I have never been told no on any of those requests. I hope this helps for ideas, it usually lasts me for 6 days. It's really hard packing for multiple days because our bags are only so big so unless we're only going for one or two days, lean cuisines and other frozen meals just won't work.

I guess there are many types of pine or conifer cones, So not sure if your cones are tightly held together or loose and fall apart, but could you scrape them on rough cement to knock the spikes off?

it depends on the beetles you are talking about...some beetles infest pantry foods and will be there as long as the food source is there...lady bugs (beetles) can show up in the Fall and will slow down once it stays cold, but can be a nuisance until then... there are a number of black colored beetles of different sizes show up in structure in the Fall, usually are only around a couple of weeks
