Working Group

Dogs in the working group are often trained for a variety of tasks, including pulling sleds, guarding property and livestock, and performing water and mountain rescues. These breeds are recognized for their intelligence, ability to learn quickly and their alert temperaments. Breeds in this group tend to be strong and larger in size and may not be suitable as pets for the typical family, although they make good companions when properly trained. Great Danes, Siberian Huskies, Doberman Pinchers and Saint Bernards are all examples of working group dog breeds.
