Shih Tzu Puppy Bites

I have a Shih Tzu dog who is 15 months old and he bites. You can not tkae anything from him as he growls and then bites. I have little grandchildren and i am afraid he will bite one of them. He is loved by everyone, and has no reason to bite. Please help me to stop this, as I am in a state right now that I want to give him away.
