Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple Colors

I want to update a small room at our church that we use as our children's room. Currently it has brown paneling everywhere and just looks boring.

I want to make the room look bigger and more like a room for children. I have seen rooms using a multicolor design and I thought this may work in this space. I just wanted to get some feedback on that.

Should I even try this, should I stick to one or maybe two colors, what should those colors be? We are on somewhat on a tight budget for this project, so we want to make sure to complete this project wisely.
