Cleaning Plastic (Patent) Shoes

I bought some 'patent' shoes from new look today and I was wondering how I am to clean them or to get rid of scuffs when they happen? I don't know whether I am to use the same tricks that you use with actual leather patent shoes, as from new look, they are most likely plastic! Please reply as soon as you can, if you can.
