Children's Table at Rehearsal Dinner

My son and his fiance were having 4 children in their wedding; I did not want the children to be bored at a formal affair so I made the children a table; it was situated near the children's parent's table.

I covered it with the black tablecloth with an overlay of white; each child had their own paper placemat that had a wedding picture on it with the bride/groom's name, date and the child's name; the centerpiece was votive candles on each side of a large ice cream sundae bouquet, which was in a large Coca-Cola glass; it was placed on a 45RPM record bowl I made.

At each child's place setting was a small ice cream sundae bouquet for them to take home. Bubble gum pieces were scattered around the centerpiece (I used glass marbles scattered around the centerpieces on the adult tables). Regular dinner plates, glassware and silverware were used for the children. On the back of each child's chair was a sand bucket filled with coloring books, candy, crayons and small games; it was tied to the chair with satin ribbon. Their names were written on the sand buckets with a metallic paint pen. The contents of the bucket were enjoyed while the adults were involved in their presentation of bride and groom, devotion.

The table was child-friendly and the children enjoyed themselves trememously during the course of the evening. The place mats that were colored by the children were presented to the bride and groom as a keepsake of the children in their wedding.
