Post By Johanna (Guest Post) RE: Uses for Tennis Balls? We could use them for our school. They are great for putting on the feet of chairs to deaden sound and protect the floor finish. (Guest Post) RE: Uses for Tennis Balls? My tennis team had a party, and the hostess cut slits in tennis balls and put candy inside for a party favor. This year, the girls team is planning a pranks on the guys team...to cut slits in tennis balls and put a little sand in them to deaden them, and fill a ball hopper with the "dead" balls. Post By Lil Sara (Guest Post) RE: Uses for Tennis Balls?I found a website: www.pop-ons.com There are uses for tennis balls!! (for walkers, schools, promotional items, etc.) Post By Mike (Guest Post) RE: Uses for Tennis Balls? You can put them on your hitch of you car Post By Allison (Guest Post) RE: Uses for Tennis Balls?RE: Uses for Tennis balls. Give them to Senior Centers. Many seniors use them on the bottoms of their walkers so they will glide easier. Irene from Nevada Post by ThriftyFun RE: Uses for Tennis Balls? Not sure I saw this one in the list... cut a slit in a tennis ball and store change in it. I keep a tennis ball with change in it in my glove box. Post By Joe (Guest Post) RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls?Check with your local animal shelter. Old tennis balls make great toys for the dogs. Post by beachy RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls?
You can give them to a teacher. They can slice and X in one side of the tennis balls. Then they can put the tennis balls on the ends of chairs so they don't squeak when you move or slide them on the floor. - Michael Post by ThriftyFun RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls?Check with the local elementary schools. I know our school is taking out the carpet and replacing it with tile. Then they realize that the chairs scraping against the tile creates a lot of noise so they take old tennis balls and put a slice in them and attached them to the chair legs. We have thousands of them on chair legs at our school. - Marci

I'd love to have some as mine are wearing out and I know no tennis players anymore. We use them constantly in the dryer when we have something fluffy, such as my coat, which is in danger of matting up. the tennis balls keep the fluff from matting. Yes, they do make a noise, but no more than my tennis shoes do. - Cathy
RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls? You could give these tennis balls to a school. Many teachers use them for the legs of the desks. It helps to protect the floors Post by rjhacth RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls? At my daughter's school, they cut x's in the tennis balls and slide the legs of the children's chairs into them. No more distracting squeaking every time a child moves his or her chair. I'm sure any school teacher would be happy to take them off of your hands. A tennis ball comes in handy in the garage. Hang it from the ceiling to the spot your car windshield touches when you have pulled into the garage space. You will know you are in the garage far enough for the door to close. - Vernia

One use for old tennis balls is to give them to nursing homes and assisted living places. They can put them on the bottom of walkers, to help the elderly to not fall. Also, you might give some to dog kennels or vets, for the dogs to play with. Our 2 dogs love them! Hope this helps. - Wanda

Pack-o-Fun had a really great Santa ornament made from a tennis ball only required a small santa hat or one you make your self from felt and markers. Draw the face, glue on the hat and add a hanger. - Arnetta
RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls?Hi -- I'm a nurse and see a great use for tennis balls every day -- as 'feet' over the rubber tips on older people's walkers -- for people too frail to lift the walker as they walk along, the furry surface of the tennis balls allows them to be pushed along without catching on the carpet. A nursing home or retirement center would probably be glad to take a lot of your tennis balls, so might a physical therapy center. Post by nims212 RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls? This may not be what you want, but my volleyball coach had the boys slit 2 tennis balls, fill them with pennies, tape the two together with LOTS of duct tape. They used them as weights for their overhand swing exercises. I use them when I walk on the treadmill... Post by pat31750 RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls? If the tennis balls are clean still, you can use them to fluff up your pillows. Just toss a couple tennis balls in the dryer with your pillows and turn it on for a few minutes. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to soon. Post by Anonymous RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls?
Someone had written in asking what they could do with all of their old tennis balls. Here is my suggestion: if the tennis balls are still in fairly good shape, many different animal shelters/humane societies would be very happy to take them off your hands. Many puppy-dogs love to play catch the ball, and this will give them both exercise and lots of enjoyment while waiting to be adopted into both a loving and permanent new home.

Hey! I saw a really neat idea for an old tennis ball--cut it open and put over padlocks that are exposed to the elements! I had never seen this before--must keep it from freezing. Love all the tips!! - Diane
RE: Brainstorm: Uses for Tennis Balls? In our yoga class we use them to massage our feet. We do this by balancing on one leg and rolling the tennis ball around with the sole of the other foot. You can vary the pressure and the timing depending on your own preference. (don't knock it unless you've tried it)Feels great! You can make a cute little puppy by gluing 6 balls together..Glue four as a base to represent the four paws...glue another one on top for the head and a 6th one for the behind. Add floppy ears, a pompom nose and cute little plastic eyes on one end and a tail {be creative. Perhaps a miniature tennis racket for a tail} Makes a great paper weight for a tennis player. Tennis balls make great chew toys for dogs. Just watch and when they start to come apart, throw away and replace it with another one. Also, you can throw one Post by gizmo81795 |
