Homemade Weed Killers

I am looking for a cheap way to kill weeds.

Pour vinegar into a spray bottle full strength and heavily spray over area you want weeds killed. It will also burn off the grass too, so be sure you want all of it gone before applying. Grass will grow back in time as will the weeds.

For weeds in between cracks in driveways and sidewalks, I found that boiling water did the trick. Some said to put salt in it too, but, why put that on to cement?

For the garden area, get some black plastic tarp, place it over where you want to plant, and hold it down with rocks or bricks. Give it about 2 weeks, (check it first though) and all the weeds are cooked under the black plastic and already starting to composting.
