I painted my room bright green(color of grass) and I now feel its to crazy for me. I can't repaint it. what are some suggestions for decorating this room so it will not look to crazy?
Editor's Note: Get a lighter color of paint and either with a sponge or textured roller, roll a light color (even white) over the green. It will lighten the look without having to totally repaint. Another thing you could do is get a lot of light colored posters and put them on the walls, lots of them. The green will then be the background for the posters.

Don't know if it's too late, date an all. But I would suggest painting a beach them on the window wall, either side of window. Paint palm trees, water, sunset, and bed level -either paint sand color- and maybe add some sand texture to the wall. Bed spread tropical print or woven solid with throw pillow of assortment, stripes. palms, tropical birds, fish, etc. Take beach pale cut 1/2 put seashells in it, a beach ball or too in the room. Wood needs to be sanded and white washed, for the tropical look or dark cherry - which ever you lean to. Take bed and center it, long ways or take head board off and set it like it is, but back at the window. OR Paint the room a nice yellow(test any color in a qt. first with two coats on cardboard or partical board - to see if you like color.) Put a long desk, shelves work area across the wall in front of window. To the sides of the window use shelves on the desk or from floor to shelf. IKEA always has great shelves. Put a tv on the desk, on the wall were the bed is now, turn the bed sideways against the wall, across to the wall on your right - mold in a large window ( bout the size of a slider almost if you have the space) and inside the window - paint a railing and a beach seen. Hag sheers from a rod maybe black or bambo and give the illusion of a patio. Put sheers on the other window. Pull back with cording. On the bed wall, hang posters of vacation islands, hula skirts and top, lays, Paint the furniture all one color. White chair, make a cushion in a topical pattern. Hang globes in the room. Put your items in dark baskets, get standing lights instead of desk/table lites, except where computer is have a lamp of some by that. Armoire are real good at ikea also. They can hold tv, clothes, books, I got a triple one and love it - its' some large piece made from pine. Any time you see a magazine or idea you like take it out, and use for ideas. I lean very bold in decorating, and get my ideas from better homes, home depot books, library decorating books. Keep an eye out for what you like. Lean in that direction. You can always change it later. Hope this helped. j. johnson

NEED HELP FOR SUMMER PROJECT! before july 10
I need help re doing a room that i spend a lot of times studying as a student, reading, and watching tv, i have a lot of different colored woods, i really want to paint the walls maybe a green or purple i cant decide. wat should i do to make a fun/teen/ room?!!!! maybe a tropical style or movie room with different movie posters and stuff i donno

any tips??
i have a really bright hot pink and bright colored room but i just want to make it cuter i was wondering if anyone has any ideas or tips on using supplies i have at home to make my room cuter? i can't really go out and spend money so i was wondering if anyone knows any stuff i could use or make to decorate with i have like a bright lime green dream net over my bed and light sheer pink curtainsand some bright bedding anyways if yo have any ideas please let me know thanks!!

Right now there is a palm themed print around on a lot of things. I know Walmart currently has table linens, bath linens and bed linens in these prints. They are tan and a very pale yellow with soft green palms.
They also have an Asian themed bath set that is in the deep burgundy brick type red and black that would go with it as well. You can look and see if the accessories would go with your bamboo shade/headboard. Maybe you could see if they have the cloth version of the shower curtain cover to hang over your closet door to give a softer affect to blend in.

for your room with the bamboo headbord for your bed i think it would be really cool if you made it like hawaian...u could make it really cute...be creative and put a blow-up palm tree in your room...or hawaian looking candles...you could even put sea shells.And if your looking for colors you could do like blue, green, and even pink...just be creative and your room could look really cool

Think neutrals or Asian. Look at Ikea or ethan allen catalogs and if you can get your hands on it, "Domesticatons" (they have a website). The layouts and schemes in these books often follow a neutral or Asian theme. Also, try to get hold of a "real simple" magazine.
