Bluish Black Flying Insects on My RoofThese are my observations: They can fly They are an inch in length They are a bluish, black in colour I have seen them around the roof of my house only. This could also be helpful. My home is situated about a ten minute walk from a very large outlet of running creek water. I really want to take care of the problem myself and not pay a pest control company to fix the problem. Does anyone know what I am dealing with? I just wanted to say of all the dogs I've ever known this breed is the easiest to train. mine is 6 weeks and three days old name Buster Brown and he is very smart and great with my kids it is a great combination of all the breeds. Post By t. clark (Guest Post) RE: Bluish Black Flying Insects on My RoofI have those too. Looks like they made a nest in my overhang by my patio door. What are they and how do we get rid of them? They swoop down towards you as if warning to keep away. I would really like to enjoy my backyard without screaming and dashing into the house all the time! My roof is new by the way, so it can't be the roof. Post By Rose (Guest Post) RE: Bailey and Lexi (Min-Pin/Chihuahua)I have a min-pin male named Casey, he looks very much like yours except he has white patches on his chest and feet. We rescued him from homelessness and I am not going to have his ears, tail or anything cropped off. I think they are so much cuter with long tails! Your babies are beautiful. I have to admit, MinPins are Post by Ima3 RE: Bluish Black Flying Insects on My RoofI think they are called "spider wasps" go to www.pestcontrolcanada.com They will have pictures. I think the bluish wasp are quite harmless unless you disturb their nest. They most often are solitary wasps. They are carnivores. They eat spiders. Often time taking over the spiders' own home and eats him/her. From I have read about them , they are not that aggressive toward humans. Post By Sue (Guest Post) RE: Bluish Black Flying Insects on My RoofWe have insects like that around here. I think they may be blue wasps. Yes, they can sting! They like to build nests in attics, garages, under the edge of roofs etc. I'd buy a can or two of wasp spray and take good aim and fire away!
