Use Straws at Restaurants

To try to save yourself from getting cold sores, when eating in a restaurant with reusable glasses, always ask for a straw for each of your drinking glasses.

RE: Use Straws at Restaurants

Most restaurants run their dishes thru a steam wash and rinser machine. It's supposed to be at temperatures to kill germs, but I wonder if the eating utensils shouldn't be kept in the machine for a longer period of time, rather than in & out in a flash, as I've seen it done, when I was working in restaurants.

This tip is especially important if the glass is made of plastic and not real glass. Lipstick is harder to clean from plastic than glass. With this being the case I always wonder if germs are also harder to remove from plastic.

is this because of the possibility the glass wasn't washed properly?? cause i hear that all the time.
