Musty Smelling Coat Closet

I recently bought a home and one of the closets with a crawl space entry door has a very musty smell. I tried open dishes of vinegar, but it is still slightly musty. Any suggestions?

Charcoal will absorb odors in closed spaces (we use it in the camper when folded down), however, maybe it is still coming from the crawl space through the door. I would try putting some kind of door sealer (like weather stripping) to see if that helps. We tried throwing lime under our deck when we found a dead cat that had been there a few days in the heat and that helped a lot. Maybe put lime in the crawl space to sweeten the soil ?? Good luck!
