Crocheted Toddler Girl's Hat

Supplies:

• 1 skein of 3-ply yarn
• Scrap of contrasting yarn
• (I used Caron CuddleSoft)
• Size H crochet hook
• Glue gun

Directions:

Note: Ch 3 at beg of each round counts as first dc

Ch 4, join with sl st in first ch to form ring

Round 1: Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring; join with sl st in top of ch 3 (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in ea dc around; sl st in top of ch 3 (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, [dc in next st, 2 dc in next st] repeat around, end dc in last st; sl st in top of ch 3 (36 sts)

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, [dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st] repeat around, end dc in last 2 sts, sl st in top of ch 3 (48 sts)

Round 5: Ch 3, dc in same st, [dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st] repeat around, end dc in last 3 sts (60 sts)

Round 6: Ch 3, dc in same st, [dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st] repeat around, end dc in last 4 sts; sl st in top of ch 3 (72 sts)

Rounds 7-9: Ch 3, dc in next and each st around; sl st in top of ch 3 (72 sts)

Round 10: Ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, dc dec over next 2 sts, [dc in next 4 sts, dc dec over next 2 sts] repeat around; sl st in top of ch 3

Round 11: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, dc over next 2 sts, (dc in next 3 sts, dc dec over next 2 sts] repeat around; sl st in top of ch 3

Round 12: Ch 3, dc dec over next 2 sts, repeat around; sl st in top of ch 3

Round 13-15: Ch 2, 2 sc, [2 hdc in next st, 3 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, 3 sc] repeat around; sl st to ch 2

Bow Trim:

• Cut a 4" long section of contrasting yarn and set aside.
• Wrap the rest of the scrap around hand 10 times and lay it across the 4" scrap.
• Tie the 4" scrap around the center of the wrapped yarn.
• Voila! An easy bow!
• Using glue gun, attached to hat, just about brim
