Cat Litter Clogging Toilet

I did a dumb thing. I didn't realize that it was bad to flush cat poop down the toilet. I would scoop his litter box and flush the feces down the toilet. The litter was just regular clay litter, and I would shake all access litter off, but there was still pieces stuck to the feces. It didn't cause damage at first so i didnt see a problem, but one day it backed up and ever since it has been semi clogged and will clog up easily. We have tried plunging but its not helping. What should I do?

Buy an $8 plumber's snake and work it hard in the toilet.

I have been experimenting with a variety of eco-friendly cat litters and by far my favorite is "World's Best Cat Litter". "Swheat Scoop" didn't clump that well and the ammonia smell was really strong when I'd go to scoop out the frequently-falling-apart clumps. It's not very absorbent either (I wonder if they need to make the granules finer for more surface area...); unless I had about six inches of it in the pan the urine would find its way to the bottom and create a caked on mess. "Healthy Pet P-Pod Clumping Cat Litter" clumps better than "Swheat Scoop" (not as well as "World's Best") but it's very dusty; it gets tracked all over by the cats and when I'm cleaning it I have to cover my mouth and nose. The cats (three of them) don't like this litter either. We have two boxes and their preference is for the one with "Swheat Scoop" in it.

You can still flush it just change cat litter they make one that is wheat based and will wash away it,s called swheat scoop. If you look at http://www.septicdrain.com they have more info like that.

ok had the same thing happen, my friend plumber
plunged, snaked, and auger did not work...
he said get new toilets like Champion, or ToTo
(very costly$$) OR take toilet off
empty toilet upside down on grass find 'plug'
and you recalk bottom ring, and you are done..
we got new toilets and I get to hear about my
costly cat poo $$$ plu lecture I got from husb.

It's time for a plumber's snake. You can get one at the hardware. Fairly straight-forward on how to use.
