depends on the coffee you are using Folger's seems like its stronger to me. use one scoop for each cup of coffee,Maxwell House I use one scoop+.That is the only kind of coffee I buy.

Like I said in a previous post on this subject, I like stronger coffee.

I know that I use at least 1 cup fine ground coffee (more like 1 1/2 cups) to get one half gallon of coffee.

I use a Malita # 6 drip container and filter and heat the water in a tea kettle. Then drip into a pitcher. This way I don't have a coffee pot, but I can make as much coffee as I want One cup or one gallon.

I also have an extra blender jar that I only use for coffee, and don't wash out often because it doesn't get dirty.

I measure the beans by the marks on the blender.

Of course this is how I like my coffee and haven't found a better tasting way to make it. I've been doing coffee like this for more than 20 years.

Usually figure 1 cup of ground coffee for 25 cups of water.

Follow someone else's recipe, then adjust to your liking. Adjust till you are happy with the taste. I like much stronger coffee than most people. I also grind my own in my blender.
