I'm looking for picket fence to put around inside of sanctuary Not inexpensive cardboard or anything Has to be like a fence around a backyard at least 3 feet tall. HELP.

Party games from my 9 yr old.
Sherrif/Outlaw clue:
Each child draws a shred of paper. One paper has an X (sherrif), one other paper has an O (Outlaw). The child with the X has to leave the room, while the outlaw identifies himself to all the other children. The sherrif returns and asks the other children 5 total questions about the outlaw. (Like is the outlaw wearing a red shirt?. Can not ask is the outlaw's name..... ) After the 5 questions, the sherrif has to guess who the outlaw is. If he guesses correctly, the oulaw goes to "jail". If the sherriff is luck enough to ask the outlaw a question about himself before the five total questions are complete, the outlaw has to raise his hands and say "You got me, sherriff", and go to "jail". Jail is a cardboard box decorated on the outside like a jail. Game starts over with new draws of paper until only two children are left.
Outlaw/Outlaw/Sherriff - variation of duck/duck/goose
Children sit in a circle. One goes around outside of circle tapping each child on the head saying "Outlaw". He taps one at random and says "Sherriff". A chase ensues by the sherriff of the outlaw. He must catch the outlaw before he can sit down in the circle again. If so, original outlaw is out (sit in middle of circle or go to jail), and sherriff becomes "it". If not, no one is out and sherriff is "it".

For party favors and party decorations, if you're looking to spend a little money, but not a fortune, check Oriental Trading Company. (orientaltradingcompany.com) They sell everything in bulk, usually by the dozen. Its a great place to get bandanas, straw hats, sheriff's badges, etc. And if you go on their website, you can look up what you need by the theme of the party. Much cheaper than using a party website. If you get on their mailing list for catalogs, they always have great deals offering 20% discounts if you buy from that catalog within a few weeks, and sometimes free shipping and handling. they have everything!

My daughter had a horse themed party this last year and I drew a horse (you could just use a picture of one) and we played pin the tail on the horse. I cut out tails from felt.
I went to the craft dept. and they have this roll of white picket fence and I made a two tiered cake and wrapped the fence around the side of the top layer and using a piping bag I made "grass" from green icing and put plastic horses in their "corral". You could also buy one of those plastic farm sets that come with plastic fencing.
Find some cowboy boots to fill with flowers or place a balloon boquet on and tuck a bandanna in the top of the boot as centerpiece on the table.
Play musical chairs to cowboy songs. Or a game my kids love to do at their parties is like hot potato, but we use a wrapped package. When the music stops they take one layer of paper off. Then they keep going through box after box or layer after layer and the one who opens the final box wins the prize. We played it to where they could only take off one layer of paper and could not open the box. But to shorten it, you could let them unwrap a layer and take it out of the box to find the next package.
Bob for apples. If the weather is still warm enough and dry enough find some hay bails for them to sit on around a bonfire (real or fake) and serve hot dogs and/or do S'mores. You can find hay bails for as little as $5 a piece. After the party the straw or hay can be used for animal bedding or to cover flower beds for the winter, etc.
If you know someone with a horse you could do pony rides or if they have a trailor do hay rides. You can use a tractor, truck or a horse for that.
If you check with a local horse stable they may offer hay rides and bon fires.

You can ALWAYS turn "pin the tail on the donkey" into a custom game to fit your theme -- in this case, maybe "pin the saddle on the horse" or "pin the badge on the sheriff". Decorations can use bandanas, cowboy hats, boots, anything horse related .... if all or part of the party is outdoors, kids could try to "lasso" a stuffed animal to win a prize. Serve the food from a "chuck wagon". If you can find that speckled lightweight metal tableware cheap at a thrift shop or yard sale, you could serve the cake on that. Sounds like fun!
