25th Anniversary Gift Ideas

Ideas needed for 25th wedding anniversary gift for my cousin and his wife. I only see them once a year and don't know them very well personally. They are country folk but very opposite from each other.

There are no special memories or photos that I could put together for some kind of album or collage. They live 3 hours away from us, so I am not familiar with their area. Has anyone ever come up with a neat idea that they use often for such occasions?

Gift certificate to a favorite store or restaurant that is in their area or provides web access. What I usually do is give a gift VISA card, and tell them to use it as desired because I couldn't make up my mind. Not a single person has ever complained.

RE: 25th Anniversary Gift Ideas

Sure do have an idea! I have used it for 4 out of my 5 kid's 21st birthdays, and my brothers 50th (Golden) wedding anniversary. For the kids I got for each 21 pennies, 21 nickels, 21 dimes, 21 quarters, and 21 half dollars. I took a box and taped each coin individually to the inside bottom, inside top, and sides in the box. They had to undo each coin to get to use them. They loved the idea. I didn't do it for the first of the 5 kids cause he was over 21 when i thought of it.

For my brother, I got a tall thin gold gift bag, gold "Easter" grass, and gold foil. I took 50 gold dollar coins, wrapped and taped each one with a piece of gold foil squares. Then I alternated grass and coins in the bag so they had to take the grass out to find all the coins. This was also a hit. You would need 25 pennies (25 cents),25 nickels ($1.25), 25 dimes ($2.50), 25 quarters ($6.25) - that is $10.25, if you add 25 half dollars ($12.50) total would be $22.75, if my math is correct.

Then you would need foil, regular household aluminum foil. If you can get silver grass and a silver colored bag all the better. I bet this would be a hit, along with a nice card, it is not all that expensive. You could even add 25 silver dollars if you wanted to.

On our 25th wedding anniversary, several guests at our party gave us gift certificates to restaurants. My husband and I enjoyed using these for the next few weeks.
