You guys don't want your moms around? I like having my mom around all the time but especially on my birthday. I really just don't know what to do this year. I'll be 15 on February 5.

I kind of want something semi-small so as not to beat me 16th. But 15 still kind of is big for me because I can remember when I used to think that was so old. And i mean seriously, at 14 older and younger people still think of you as a kid, but 15 means you're not treated like a baby anymore.

I live in Ohio, so in march its still very cold outside. If you live somewhere that you can go skiing or snowboarding, that would be a good idea. If you just wanna chill out with some friends and still party, have some friends get together at either your house, a town hall, or somewhere where you will have some privacy, and still have fun.

One of my friends even took some girls out skating and then shopping afterward, and back to her house to spend the night. It was really fun.

My advice is to keep it from being too little kiddish or immature. But don't make it too big, your sweet sixteen will be next year :)

Just remember that a spa day for a massage requires the girls to be at least 16 without the parent. I tried to do this, but there is a law forbidding it under that age without the parent present. And no you can't just get a signature.

I always ponder over what to do for my bday cause its in december, so i cant do anything outdoors except snowboard, which ive already done like seven times. i live in alaska, too, so theres not like clubs or beaches or lakes or anything. what im doing this year though should be really fun. and cheap! i know my massage therapist really well and we might ask if we can borrow their building for a night and use the waiting area. i have a tiny flashing disco ball and my friend has a strobe light, so were hooking those up and blasting the music. well have some cheap food like chips and coke, but we all love dancing and clublike situations so it should be fun. thats my idea. you can probably rent someplace kinda cheap, too. like a meeting room in a hotel (that may be spendier) or a place where they hold weddings, like a church? or your house if its big enough, mine isnt.

I'm 15 on the 12th of September and I'm having a spa day with all my girl friends, we are going to have a back massage and facial and then we are going to the sauna rooms there. Because this is just for my girl friends me and my boyfriend are going out for a meal and hes taking me to the Broadway to watch Mamma Mia, im not doing anything big because im having a huge sweet 16 so my mum thought we should do it cheap. The place im going for the spa is "Elizabeth Arden" and per person its costing $564 so all together the treatments will be around $2256. I hope that helps you :)

I just had my birthday party. It was excellent. My grandma bought me a mini chocolate fountain for my birthday, so I set that up and the guests loved it, about 30 friends came over at 7 and girls could sleep over, guys had to leave at 2 a.m. at the latest.

If you're going to do a party at home, try to make it original, or add a twist to it, so that it doesn't seem kiddish, but its not HUGE enough to outshine, or put pressure on making your sweet 16 a blast. I really liked the chocolate fountain because it added something different to my party that wasnt expensive, and it wouldnt outshine my sweet 16

I had also really really wanted to take myself and about 3 or 4 friends innertubing (its actually incredibly fun, whether you've tried it or not) on my birthday with my parents at a lake close by, and then we could have a little camp out and bon fire afterwards or something, but my family's boat was in for a repair, so it wasnt possible.
(Even just driving around out on the lake with the boat and a few friends, then putting the anchor down so we could swim for about an hour would've been extremely fun)

For my 13th birthday I had a party at a hotel. I wanted to have it at a Hilton hotel but my mom thought the room was too small and that we could find another hotel with a bigger room for much less. I got kind of upset that I had planned to have it at the Hilton and had to change at the last minute.

I regret making such a big deal about it and acting like a brat because we found a much better hotel. We got two suites that cost less than one regular room at the Hilton. We got the two biggest rooms they had [one for my friends and I and the other I let my mom her best friend and two of my siblings stay in.] The hotel let us decorate the room, it had a hot tub and pool, each room had a kitchen, bathroom, and three HUGE beds.

I would have only been able to have about three girls come if i had it at the Hilton, but I had eight girls. My friends loved it because we had our privacy and it was cool because my mom was just next door if I needed anything. I had a cake with a picture of me on it and a huge decorated cookie that was the of a small pizza. I absolutely loved my party. I would recommend that kind of party to 13 and 15 year olds.

For my 14th I had a snake party and I hired a professional reptile handler to come and show off his snakes. It was awesome because got to try to convince my mom to get me a snake [which she still won't :) o well] and I got to play with fun snakes with my friends. A lot of people who were afraid of snakes started liking them.

My 15th is coming up in January and I was thinking about having a spa birthday with a couple of close girl friends. But I kind of want my three guy friends to be able to come celebrate my 15th with me. I don't want to go to the movies because my friends and I go there almost every week.

I don't really want that big of a party this year because I want my 16th to be really amazing. I might just go on a shopping spree and maybe a spa with my female friends then go out to dinner with the guys and girls. I'm going to make my parents split the bill since they're divorced and my mom usually ends up paying for everything but I'm going to chip in as much as possible.

Usually when I have a birthday party at home I clean the house and I let my mom decorate since she loves doing that. I just hope my parties cool.

I don't spend a lot of money for my son's birthday gifts, but I try to do something that will surprise him and make him feel a little more grown up each year, so that the birthday really feels like a milestone. Up until this point he has not been allowed to listen to music with parental advisory stickers. He is turning 15 next week and I'm going to surprise him by lifting the ban! I've pulled some CDs from my own collection and also shopped for used CDs so that I can present him with a BIG stack of music -- everything from rock to punk, old school rap to current hip hop, new indie music -- you name it.

I might be a little old-fashioned, but I think when kids have to wait and yearn for something, like ear piercing, a cell phone, a later curfew, a new privilege, then it's just that much sweeter and more appreciated when they finally get it.

For the parties, we usually do dinner out at his favorite place with the family/grandparents, and then on another day maybe go to a local wave pool with friends (having the other kids contribute their admission instead of bringing gifts is a great idea). None of it breaks the bank. It's the attention and the novelty of their day that they'll remember the most, not how much you spent.

I agree, for the most part with realistic mom - BUT - not with the milestone birthdays. Every milestone is set by what is customary in a certain culture. 15 IS a BIG milestone for the Latin culture; bigger than the sweet 16. We need to respect that.

For my 13 year old twins, we had a scavenger hunt at the mall followed by a carnival near by. Instead of gifts, my girls asked them to bring their admission to the carnival and food cans for a food drive happening as well. I shopped at the thrift store for all the items in their goodie bags from our local discount store such as lip-gloss, candies, key chains (they love to hang it from their backpacks). We got them an outfit for the day along with some necessities for their gift.

For my son's 15th party, we are just going for the amusement park across town. His guests will bring half of the admission instead of a gift. We'll get him a few outfits that he needs and perhaps an ipod from ebay.

My kids are happy to do this because they understand that spending time and making memories are much more important than an item that will be left behind.

Oh, please! You kids ask for too much these days. If you had to pay for it, what would you do? You are turning 15, not 5! Every birthday doesn't have to be a big bash! There are milestone birthdays that are important like 1, 7, 10, 13, 16, and 21. Lunch out with your BFF, a movie, and something you really need from Mom and Dad. Actually, I'm invited to a 15 year old's birthday celebration tonight and I know the parents are expecting BIG money for their son because I asked them what he wanted. It's ridiculous! I know they wouldn't be giving my kids BIG money! Too bad we aren't teaching our kids that less is more! Think about it. My kids are realistic kids, because that's how we raise them, and because of that, they are never disappointed!

Well, I'm going to be 15 this Thursday and my parents are taking me and 3 of my closest friends to Coney Island. Then we are coming back to my house and having a sleepover in a tent in my front yard. For my birthday I asked for:

okay well it ss my fifteenth on august 12
trying to figure out what i want to get :| and what to do!! i was thinking of just hanging out with my friends. but the day before my birthday august 11 i am getting home from my holidays and august 12 my birthday my perents are going back to work :(
it wont be anyfun it'll just be another boring day but hey i can't change that but this is what i would suggest for a 14-16 year old

The past couple of years I have had garden parties which were great fun. We researched games in google and found loads like passing the orange under the chin and things. However now I am getting a bit bored of it, and last year I went to TGIS but I feel as if that wasn't as great.

I'm having my 15th birthday party soon and of course a dream would be the whole doo with a limo, spa, big expensive places ect, but its too expensive and I'm going to have just as much fun doing the simple things making it really fun with my best friends. I'm basically going to the cinema, going shopping, hanging around the park with a load of drinks , sweets ect, lol while being crazy then going for a meal then going back to my house, having the bday cake whatever lol watch loads of films, be mad, have a party int he garden, sleepover and tadah fun night allover hehe can't wait! I am turning 15 in 2 weeks and I am really excited about my b-day! I will probably go shopping and get a maniure or facial with my best friend then maybe a sleepover. When i was 15 my mom did this whole tea party thing. it was so boring! then a limo drove us to the mall. my mom gave us( me and my 6 bffs) $70 each and gave me $100. that part was ok. it would have been so much more fun if she was not breathing down my back the whole time.

ok i had the best 13th birthday ever Me and 5 of my friends went to a spa and got awesome facials! Then we went back to my house and w/ a surprise a limo came and picked us up without any of my friends knowing and drove us to the Sofitel Chicago water tower and we went shopping there and then slept over obviously! We stayed up all night and had the best time!

I am currently planning a b day party for my twin nieces that turn 15 tomorrow. I think getting them and a couple of there friends, this part you can do either at an affordable hotel suite or say their Aunt's house :) and have a cool spa party. I have a friend that does them and girls at that age love getting facials and all that fun stuff. It is totally affordable. and you can do cool snacks they like and champagne glasses with chilled Shirley Temples. You know anything else you can think of. They are very excited. You can actually Google it and all kinds of stuff comes up. Good luck

My 15th birthday party was AMAZING and so much fun...i love my parents for doing this haha. I (we) took 5 of my best friends and me up to washington dc....we live in north carolina. Then we stayed at this fancy hotel for 3 days and went shopping in georgetown, out to lunch, ice skating, took the metro.....and just partied. We all had sooooo much fun...and it even snowed while we were there!! (it was jan). It was actually pretty expensive, but since it was a special "occasion" my parents were willing to do it.

My 15 b-day was awesome! My mom signed me out at like 12 and all my friends got signed out at 12. My mom told theie mom that she was going to take us out in a limo and go shopping but she told us that we were going out to lunch and then we were going to get ready. She took us out to eat and after we were done eating, a limo showed up and me and my friends were all saying how lucky someone is to be in a limo, trying to see if it was for us. My mom was like "it's for you" and we were taken to the mall to go shopping. Then at like 3 PM, me and my friends were at my house waiting for the boys that we asked to my party. After the boys showed up, my mom was upstairs and let us play some of our own games, and so we played like truth and dare and just sat there talking about stuff. Then at 6, we went out for supper in a limo again and then after supper me and my friends went in the limo without my mom this time, it was pretty fun.

i think the best 15 year old party was one i had, haha, that's just my opinion. Here's what happened:
it was a sleepover and my friends came over at like 1pm, and we played around with makeup and hair and that for about two hours giving each other 80's themed makeup and hair so we looked really over the top, then my parents surprised us with a limo!

Seriously that was amazing and we got in a went to the movies, we got tiara's (i know sounds babyish but it was so much fun) and we put on the tiaras and keep in mind we looked hilarious with makeup and hair and the limo took us to the movies. Everyone was looking at us but it was heaps of fun and we went into the movies and then we ran around the shopping center for a while trying on different clothes and stuff - girl stuff.

Then the limo picked us back up and we just drove around for a while with music playing heaps loud and lollies and chips and any other non health food.

When we finally drove home we just crashed and watched movies, listened to music and talked until all hours of the morning it was seriously the best birthday ever, i know the limo is quite expensive these days so maybe this birthday should be kept till sweet 16 where parents feel they can lash out a bit more, just letting your kids do their own thing is probably the best. it was an all girls night, though we played prank calls on some of the boys from our school and that - seriously so much fun!

If there are any good concerts of bands or singers that she likes coming to town around that time, you could buy 5 tickets to that- if you wanted to give them privacy you could buy 4 tickets together for them and then find 1 cheap ticket in the nosebleeds for you- so you know where they are and they can find you if they need anything but you won't be right on top of them. Then again, when I was 15 my mom took me and mom girlfriends to an NSYNC concert and I had no problem w/ her being there- but me and mom are really close- I say ask her what she wants and tell her to be honest and that you won't get your feelings hurt if she doesn't want you around- but who knows- she might want you to be apart of it:-)

Have a small party, because they will be 16 next year and it can be spendy! Take your daughter and four or five friends to a hotel with a pool, and let them swim and talk, get a two bedroom room so your there but they can still gossip and stay up late without you in the room.

Not all 15 year olds don't want their mom around, especially on their birthday. You can be around them and not cramp their style if you have a good relationship with your children. They have alot of time to spend with their friends but their birthday only comes once a year. You can't make memories if you are not involved in their lives. That's the problem now days some parents think 15 is grown but in reality most kids still want to know that their parents care and want attention from them. Ask them what they want, don't just assume they want to be left alone.

Spa parties are quiet a hit right now, and i know you can find some frugal recipies and low cost items at the dollar stores. Or i collect murder mystery parties, once i found one that is for teens, really cute game, the adult ones are alot of fun, the teen one really didn't have a murder in it, but it required about 6-8 people. they carry them at party stores and book stores.

adding on to my idea about the hotel night, like cazpumpkin says, let the girls have it as their time. I just stayed in the background. I was there as a chaperone, but they made the decisions for what they wanted (within reason). I didn't swim with them, just sat in a chair and read. Actually had a wonderful conversation with an elderly lady walking around alone. In the room I took one bed while they talked and played on the other one and also the living area which had a pullout couch. You can be there, but stay out of conversations unless asked. Just my opinion.

I did this for my daughter when she graduated from 8th grade. Granted, this is more costly than I would normally think of doing, but she had a lot of fun and it was really worth it. We spent the night at a local hotel with a pool. Took a weeknight so it would be cheaper and a room to hold 6 people. She invited 4 friends and we were allowed to bring a dvd player along which the hotel helped set up. Later we ordered pizza. I'm planning on doing this again this year with another daughter..

I took my daughter and her friends to a place where they make jewelry for her birthday. They had thousands of beads to choose from and could make necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc. they all had alot of fun and it was something they could take home and keep to remember their time together. They will have plenty of time to be with their friends alone so I think you should go with them. Birthdays are for being together so go with her and make memories together.

If you just want to do something for the 4 girls, how about a craft class and lunch? Or a fancy luncheon/dinner/tea party? Is there a theme park or local attraction that they could spend the day at? Maybe a spa day.
