Use Goo Gone or De-Solv-it, purchased at Wal/Mart. Both work like a charm and won't harm your paint. I once removed road tar from my car with it.

i use any cheap face cream for sap and tar. Rub on leave for a few minutes if it's hot out, otherwise a little longer. Rub off!

A auto detailer once had me use rubbing alcohol it worked just don't get it all over the place. Also get it off as soon as possible.
