What are some items you would find around your house that could go into a mini first aid kit?

Put a water bottle (sealed full) in first aid kit. Necessary for washing wounds if you are out, and taking pills if necessary. Include sterile 4 x4s, a couple of wrapped sanitary pads make good emergency compresses, a 3" ace bandage and a few empty ziploc baggies which could be filled with ice. An instant ice pak is good for a car kit, too.

You might want to include any samples you receive in the mail of Tylenol or Benedryl type products in your first aid kit. The Tylenol can be used for pain and fever and the Benedryl is good for mild allergic reaction to anything including bee stings, poison ivy and hayfever.

Try the following to be put in your kit.
Box of various sized bandaids
Bacitracin antibiotic cream
sissors
benidryl antihistamine-good for alergic reactions
tylenol
Imodium - antidiarreal
and one knee hi for a tournaquet

Vitamin E liquid gel caps. The liquid is great for helping wounds like cuts and scrapes heal. Poke a hole in a cap and squirt some of the liquid onto the wound after cleaning the wound. Then, apply a bandage or band aid. Repeat the fluid application over the next couple of days. You'll be amazed how quickly the wound heals. On another note, avoid cleaning wounds with hydrogen peroxide. It kills white blood cells necessary to the healing process.
