Hair Dye Stain in a Sink
Thanks so much Anjeena from New York Feedback About This Post:RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI tried the hairspray and nail polish remover and they didn't work. I dyed my hair jet black with Clairol permanent color and left for three days, came back and then omg. I'm gonna try the comet and bleach paste. Thanks y'all! Post By ashley (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI have a product called the sink saver that is a thin protective liner you put on your sink when dying your hair to avoid costly damage and discoloration, it takes seconds to apply and because its disposable you can just ball it up and throw it away when your finished making clean up hassle free. Email me at sinksaver2007 AT yahoo.com if you want a free sample. Post By Lydia (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI ended up getting hair dye on the lino floor. We tried everything from olay facial cleanser to nail polish remover and nothing seemed to work so we tried Lysol with Bleach toilet bowl cleaner and it worked. We had it sit on for 30 minutes and the stain was gone. The lino was a white with beige speckles and all it took out was the hair dye. Best thing ever. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkWhat I've found that works best is the nail polish remover. I just dyed my hair dark purple, and had a few stains within my bathroom sink. I used what I had laying around the house and viola! No more dark purple stains. Post By Usahtiel (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkJust use fingernail polish remover for your sink, counter top, or vinyl flooring. It comes right out! :-) Post By TeQuerra (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkTo Avoid it, put down a trash bag over the sink. Then put your hair color and stuff on the trash bag. It will protect you sink from getting a gloppy Post By Kathleen (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI dyed my hair and left some splatter on the sink, while i waited for the time to rinse. When I came back I was so upset to find that the almost brand new white vanity was black stained. I was so sure I was gonna be killed by my mom. I tried Mr. clean magic eraser and it didn't work at all. Help! thnx Post By tiina (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI am so appreciative of the feedback here!! After highlighting my hair I left a container sitting on my sink overnight. Imagine my horror when I removed the plastic bottle only to find a purple ring underneath it from the color!! I tried soap and a plastic scrubby but got no result. I found this forum, found some Comet With Bleach under my kitchen sink, made a paste, let it set for 10 minutes and voila!! Gone! This just saved me having to replace my bathroom sink in advance of our first open house :) Post By Angie McCarthy (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkSpritz some hairspray where the dye dripped, and let it soak for five minutes before wiping away. Works every time for me! Post By heather (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkThank GOD ... LOL ... I spilled hair dye on the floor this morning and didn't notice it until I came back into the bathroom, almost 40 minutes later ... needless to say, it left a number of really ugly stains on the cream/marble linoleum ... it's almost new, and I was dreading telling my boyfriend ... LOL ... I tried acetone and bleach (found where that works for permanent markers), and it faded them, but didn't take them out ... when I found this, I didn't think Comet and bleach could really work any better than the acetone/bleach ... I was so wrong, thank heavens! Made a paste, left it for about 5 minutes, scrubbed with a scrubbie sponge, and it is GONE!!!!! Thank you!!!! Oh my gosh. I was staying with some family for a few months out of state and accidentally got hair dye on their counter and could not get it out! It's been there for 3 months now and I've been covering with a soap thingy.. (I have my own private bath) I've been so uncomfortable whenever they would go in my bathroom and I dreaded the day they found out! Well I'm leaving tomorrow and I was POSITIVE they would find it shortly thereafter. In desperation I googled how to get this stain out and came on this site. I didn't have mr eraser, but I did have a clorox bleach pen. THE STAIN CAME RIGHT OUT! I LOVE ALL OF YOU DEARLY! Post By amazed! (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI had hair dye on the linoleum, the comet-bleach paste removed it! Thanks for the tip! Post By Suzanne (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a Sink
Clorox Softscrub with Bleach saved my rear after an incident with the new white vanity and a bottle of "Just for Men". Post By Chris (Guest Post) black leather dye on countertopI got black leather dye on kitchen countertop. It set for approx 8 months. Mr. Clean Eraser removed it instantly. I was simply amazed. Post By josh (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkThank you so much. Mr. Clean eraser worked like magic!!! Post By Sonia (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain on a counteri used a magic eraser to take out a hair dye staind counter top and it worked perfectly with ease. Post By dangus (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkHi, I have been dying my own hair for years and my sinks are extremely corroded from hair dye. I have been researching about how difficult it is to remove hair dye stains from your sink, I found out that over 50 million women alone (this is not even counting Men) dye their own hair in their sinks and all have the same problem about Hair Dye Sink Stains, we have patented a product called the Sink Sav*r that is a thin protective disposable liner you lay on your sink before you dye your hair and when you are finished you ball it up and throw the liner away leaving your sink stain free and looking brand new, we just patented it 5 months ago and the people that have already used them love it! We have already produced and packaged about 20,000 of them. they are very in expensive to buy at about $1 to $1.50 per liner depending on total manufacturing cost but they are extremely convenient and hassel free. no one likes to scrub their sink for an hour and some dye will permanently stain your sink , is anyone interested in trying one? I can send you a free sample...let me know Post By Sink Sav*r (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a Sink
I got black hair dye on my linoleum. I was just going to run to the store for a Mr. Clean Eraser when I thought about how just a regular can of Comet once got my shower stalls really shiny again and I tried it. It worked. I used the comet with a scrubby sponge. I'm still going to get Mr. Clean Eraser tho, just for the other stuff I can use it for. Post By Della from Wisconsin (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a Sinki had the same problem. try nail polish remover. Post By katie (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a Sink

Thank you all for your replies. I can see I'm not the only one with this problem. Post by dreeanna RE: Hair Dye Stain in a Sink
I also used hair dye in my bathroom and it dripped on the light colored cabinet. I cannot remove it. I tried ajax, mr. clean eraser, bleach, clorox cleaner with bleach. ammonia, nail polish remover. It will not come out either. I am sure they will take the cost of replacing this cabinet out of my security deposit when I move. Post By Kathie, South Portland, Maine (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkPaint your sink black. I'm j/k. Post by eggamuffin RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkDid you try one of the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers? Seems to work well on a lot of things. Post By dosize (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkClorox CleanUp is my answer to almost any stain. Works great! Post By Claudia-MD (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkAnti dandruff shampoo strips colour from your hair so try it on the sink. Black is especially tricky to move though. Post By Luci (Guest Post) RE: Hair Dye Stain in a SinkI take Clorox Softscrub with Bleach, put a squirt on it and leave it there to bleach it out. HTH Post By Tina (Guest Post) | |
