Keeping Animals from Chewing Electrical Cords

To keep your dog or cat from chewing on electrical cords, rub the cord with a bar of soap.

RE: Keeping Animals from Chewing Electrical Cords

I disagree with this method. Some dogs will lick and eat anything and soap might make the dog sick.
Depending on how old the dog is, I would try a remote training collar. These collars have a tone button and a shock button. The remote has several levels of both. I guarantee that the first time your dog is given a mild electric shock while his mouth is on the cord, he will never touch the cord again!
Make sure your dog sees the remote in your hand so he knows it was YOU that administered it. As you press the button to give the shock, say "NO"! in a loud and firm voice. He will get the message.
