Anniversary Fiesta
Our decorating theme is Fiesta. A friend lent me her serape to hang up. The dollar store had some cute Mexican-style piggy banks in sunny colors; they also had honeycomb paper pineapples and toucans. I bought some streamers in complimentary colors to make flowers from. I will also make some miniature (ornamental only) burro pinatas to add to the table centerpieces.
For food, I am taking advantage of our apple tree to make and freeze apple pies ahead of time. Since we raise our own beef, there will be beef tamales. I will also make a shrimp and tomato salad, hot rolls and butter, and whatever else sounds good. Fruit punch from our apple trees and some frozen juice concentrate will be the drink. We will feed about 40 at the meal, and then invite everyone else to the reception, since I don't think our budget will feed all 80. I am printing the invitations on some neat pre-printed paper I found at the dollar store. They can be folded, addressed and mailed without an envelope. Still need some games, though.

Mexican fiesta goods can be found in most party supply stores. To keep costs down, I would go with plenty of inflatables like cactus and Mexican themed posters. Red, green, and black balloons (for the Mexican flag) add plenty of color without spending a great deal.

Sounds great!!! Congratulations on 25 years of happily wedded bliss!! Mark "Happy Anniversary" or some emblem onto the bottom of one of the plates you have for your guests or under one of the chairs where they'll be seated. Have a door prize for the person who gets that chair or plate. The door prize could be one of your nice, homemade yummy sounding apple pies.

Pin-the-Tail-On-the-Donkey. Get a mariachi (as in marriage) record for background music. Hat dance record(?) for the Hat Dance--using a sombrero or old men's felt hat.
Pinata. Fill it with hard candies or teeny-weeny toys. Put a dime in some enchiladas for prizes.
Videotape everyone saying their best wishes. This is a great job for a kid.

First of all... congratulations! 25 years of marriage is quite an accomplishment. Wow. Your party sounds incredible and for only $100! I could never pull that off. Sounds great!
