Organizing My KitchenEllen from Medway MA Feedback About This Post:RE: Organizing My Kitchen
The great thing about Lazy Susans is not only the fact that you can fullly utilize the back of the cabinet, but also that you can put things along the side of the Lazy Susan. Depending on the size, you should be able to put things underneath and to the sides. On the sides, I have my oils and vinegars with labels on the top so I can easily find what I need. On the other side, I have narrow boxes - kosher salt, brown rice etc. Underneath I have my coffee grinder, a rice cooker, a juicer ... you get the idea. I have ALWAYS had a 2 shelf lazy susan....both houses I have lived in had them....I keep my spices on the top + my Oil, OLive Oil Vinager, etc, Post By Mary, Crown Point, IN (Guest Post) RE: Organizing My KitchenI had a corner lazy suzan cabinet; I kept large, but lightweight pantry items that I regularly used on top, like vinegars, seasonings (little packets in boxes/baskets) extra flour/sugar. Then on the bottom I put light weight "appliances" like my slicer/grater set, waffle/sandwich maker, and some juice containers. I put them on the bottom because I didnt use them much, but wanted an easy access "tall" place. Now I keep my pots/pans in the drawer under the stove/oven, but I used to put them in a cabinet between the stove/refridgerator. Canned goods and boxed things go in an upper cupboard. Now that I have much more cabinet/workspace everything has a home! No more lazy susan, but may get a turntable for my spices stuffed in a cupboard! Post by camo_angels RE: Organizing My Kitchen
I, too, have the double Lazy Susan configuration in my kitchen and the shelves don't seem very sturdy. My kitchen isn't all that big and the corner is close to the stove and prep area of my counter so this corner is quite valuable. Post By Kathryn (Guest Post) RE: Organizing My KitchenCanned goods? You could stack them. Post by happysmiles247 RE: Organizing My KitchenMy suggestion to you is store everything near where you use it. That means you first need to think about your kitchen activities.. Do you bake? Keep all baking items in a baking area. I keep my pots and pans near the stove where I use them. I keep mugs and coffee supplies near the coffeemaker. I store dishes near the dishwasher but not far from the table where we eat. Good luck! Post By Carol in PA (Guest Post) |
