Permanent Marker on Jeans

My cousin wrote on my jeans with black permanent marker. How do I get it out? They have not been washed.

What kind of cooking spray? What if the jeans are hand-me-downs that had marker on them for who knows how long? Is there any way to get that out?

RE: Permanent Marker on Jeans

I just got home from school a few hours ago, and noticed there was a HUGE line on my favorite pair of pants, so I was devastated!
So I sprayed tons of hairspray on it , then let it sit for about an hour - until i came to this site and it said "hand sanitizer" so i went searching all over my house for something, anything. I ended up with bath and body sanitizer - lol - but let me tell you, it worked :D

There's this thing ii got from an art store *Utrecht* it was a set of different things to get rid of stains. Inside theres a thing called kiss off which supposedly gets off any stain.
Right now I'm taking graffiti marker off a pair of jeans and I'm using it.
and its working b4 this i used Bleach * regular* bleach 4 colors. and regular detergent. Kiss off worked the best.

Used nail polish remover and it worked like a charm so permanent markers are not so permanent!

RE: Permanent Marker on Jeans

I just got a permanent marker marked on my jeans and I googled this site used the first things that was up there which is the hand sanitizer and it works "BEAUTIFULLY". Now I'm gonna make sure I keep an 4-8oz hand sanitizer handy with me. The mark sat for about 2 hrs and it still came off. I think hand sanitizer is the way to go.

Hand sanitizer works great! I accidentally got Sharpie on a pair of twill pants. If you can't put something on the stain immediately, work on it with the hand sanitizer, then spray Zout on it before putting it in the wash.

Gently rub over the marker stain with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I have removed permanent maker with De-Solv-it.It is citrus based and is safe for you and clothes. Nail polish remover may remove the color like bleach would.WalMart carries De-Sol-it on the cleaning isle. Hope this helps.

RE: Permanent Marker on Jeans

Nail polish remover, I believe will do the trick. It may take a few trys, but it should come off. Wash well afterwards. You might try Goo Gone.....I think it takes off permanent marker as well as sticky messes. Good Luck.
