Treating a Pet Rat With Fleas

I have a rat who has fleas and I can't get rid of them, any suggestions?

I used to have this problem. I bathed my rat using very mild flea soap. I also changed her bedding frequently until the fleas were under control in other parts of the house. Once they were no longer on the cats, they were no longer on the rat.
