Make Your Own Diaper WipesIngredients
DirectionsUsing a serrated knife, cut the roll of towels in half. In the Tupperware, mix about 2/3 cups of warm water, about two tablespoons of baby wash (you decide if you need less, more makes everything sticky) and a tablespoon of oils and 1/2 a tablespoon of baking soda. Mix until the soda disappears. Now, take the towels and rip the cardboard inner sleeve out, it unwinds. Also, this is probably the hardest part. Set the towel in the warm water mix, the middle of the towels will be prepped to pull since you pulled out the inner tube. Put the lid on the receptacle, turn it upside down and allow the water to soak into the towels for a few minutes. If it doesn't soak all the way, pour a touch more water on the top of the towels. The recipe isn't in concrete, depending on who or what it's for, you can amend it. I would not recommend essential oils for babies because of irritation. This is great to wipe off puppy paws and keep in the car for sticky fingers. Just pull the towels from the center and re-use the receptacle over and over! By Everett's Momma from Asheville, NC Feedback About This Post:RE: Identifying Insect BitesDid she have any blotchy spots on her face or anyplace else after she got bit? If so, I would say a spider bite. Does she have any swelling in the area of the bite? I would say take her to a doctor and get her checked out. If she starts getting bad headaches take her in right away, she could have an infection if it's a tick bit. Post by Mythi RE: Identifying Insect Bites
It could also be an allergic reaction to something -- anything! My daughter was forever getting "contact dermatitis" when she was young, which is just a medical term for "Hey, your kid is allergic to something but we don't know what; rub this creme on it a couple of times a day and it will go away." LOL!!! Post by bailegirl RE: Identifying Insect BitesIt could be many things, spider bites, stinging nettles, or tics, etc. Best bet would be prompt medical attention! Let us know how she is. Post by catastrofy RE: Identifying Insect BitesAny time I hear on a "Bulls-Eye" (circular) type bite with a dark colored center, I think "Brown Recluse" Spider bite... Look online at some pictures & see if it's a brown recluse spider bite because if it is a bite from the Brown Recluse Spider it needs to be treated immediately or she could have many long term health problems... I don't really know without seeing them, but with the black dots in the center they may be bee stings. The black dot would be the stinger. Post by PICO RE: Identifying Insect BitesHas your daughter been in the woods or lawn where ticks are? The very tiny deer tick looks like a frickle but it turns red with the black dot being the tick and it gets painful. I hope she doesn't have any ticks but that was the first thing that came to my mind. They are really bad this year/ My husband has had at least 7 or 8 this Summer already. Hope she clears up soon. Best wishes & prayers. Post By Connie A (Guest Post) RE: Make Your Own Diaper Wipesremember dont flush these wipes as they are made from paper towels. Post by sandy63 RE: Make Your Own Diaper WipesIt's so much better to use homemade wipes. I use cloth diapers all the time and it just makes sense to use cloth wipes too. At first I was using throw away wipes but I got a rash on my hands when I touched them. I didn't want anything against my daughter's'skin so I just use cheap washcloths and plain water. I got 30 cloths at Walmart for $5.00 and that was 6 months ago. I haven't tried using baby oil and liquid soap but if it works, that's great, maybe I'll try it! Post By Jenny (Guest Post) RE: Make Your Own Diaper WipesMy daughter has very sensitive skin and gets a rash easily, so I make my own wipes. I use 1-2 cups water, 1 tsp. - 1 Tbsp. liquid baby soap and 1 tsp. - 1 Tbsp. baby oil. I use Bounty paper towels, cut in half. I mix it in a round covered tub or an old round wipe container., drop in the towels, cover and turn upside down. I let it sit for 10 minutes. turn upright and pull out the cardboard core then just pull wipes from the center. Post By liz (Guest Post) |
