One of my friends gave me a candle that smells really good, and she hot glued rhinestones on it in the shape of a cross. You could do any shape your friend likes, or that you think is cute. Try to make the color of the candle match their bedroom, and the scent match their personality. This is a great idea and it meant a lot to me.

I didn't know what to make for all of my friends. I ended up making them all these cute little personalized ornaments. I colored them stripes on one side and polka dots on the other. All of my friends ADORED them. I gave them each a candy cane with it. It was really easy and thankfully cheap since I'm practicly broke.

My one friend actually gave me her gift today in which she didn't have much money to spend so she made Christmas ornaments out of gingerbread cookies I think and then painted them and said Merry Christmas (name) and different cute stuff. It was nice because I know that she took the time to make one especially for me!

Last year for one of my best friends i made a fabric bulletin board. Its really easy-I just used some zebra striped fabric for the background, cute blue ribbons, and lime green and yellow tacks with pics from when we were little and now, and then I put her initials at the top and some cute sayings going around the frame which I had painted hot pink. She absolutely loved it!

Take some candy bars and wrap them in clear Wrapping paper then around the candy bars tie ribbons so each candy bar has a little pocket. They can wear them around school and them eat them. There a lot of fun!

What I'm thinking of doing is, taking plain fabric totes, and decorating them with ribbon, glitter glue, and beading each of their names in on the tote in big beads.Then fill them with some lotions, and lip gloss and stuff like that, and throwing in some paper with our inside jokes/ favorite quotes written on decorative paper, and a hand made cards, I make them look really professional, but yea. I think it will.

I have almost no money to spend on friends this year, so I am making sugar cookies and decorating them. (they look professional!). Im also making chocolate dipped marchmallows, homeade lipgloss, super cute bows, and boxes filled with our inside jokes and quotes and good memories. personally, i'd rather get that stuff and be reminded of all of our good times than something expensive and meaningless.

Every year i go to target's dollar section and get a few body lotions, body sprays, etc. and wrap it all up in a pretty bag/ box/ whatever i have in the house. they have really nice stuff in Target's dollar section and you leave spending no more than $5 for a present that seems like $20! Try it!

I made a a box filled with a bunch of memories that I experienced with my friends. You can just decorate the outside cute and then fill it with favorite sayings, inside jokes, and pictures. I even added some candy and some friendship sayings.This is a nice gift for your closer friends that anyone would appreciate. Good luck to anyone having troubles this Christmas! GO 2008!

There was once this Chicken Noodle Soup book about Christmas and there was this teen that literally had $3 and she went out and bought these REALLY cheap gifts that meant a lot to the recipients; like a bunch of sticks tied with a ribbon saying "friends stick together" or a candle because they were the "brightest light in my life" or something like that. Even the cheapest gifts can have the most thought and meaning. You just have to really think what your friends and family mean to you and you will have gifts like that! Good luck! Remember that your friends (if you are REALLY close) will still love you no matter what you give them for Christmas: it's the thought that counts!

Hair things for the girls might be a good idea...a little kit with hair things, a mirror, brushes or combs, hairspray or gel, maybe some inexpensive and age-appropriate makeup, maybe a cool box to put them in.
You could find homemade recipes for things like bath salts and other toiletries online. If they like crossword puzzles, cut them out of old crossword books and newspapers. Used books about what they like are good if they're in good condition.

Buy a wooden picture frame from a craft store($2) and put a layer of glue on the surface. Then cut out really cute scrap booking paper and glue on top of the frame. You can then add what ever you want on top. I used glitter and it worked great.

Hey So i have some sweet ideas.
Go to a thrift store or search through your house for tins. Then go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of little random stuff to throw into the tin. Most people will think its awesome and hilarious. Some things to throw in are:
Duct tape
Army guys
random key chains
kazoo
slinky
funny hat things
nail polish
you can burn a cd
candy
various food items such as mustard or soy sauce
---Make it random and most people with a sense of humor will appreciate it and love it!

Since i was crunching on money this year for money. I went to the dollar store and made my friends a little "Day at the Spa" kit. It included a little basket that held a manicure set, body butter, a lofa, candle, headband, and some foot scrub. Its a cute idea for $7.

Last year I took a picture of my friends and me and I bought t-shirts for them all then I photo copied the picture onto each t-shirt then I painted a quote on the t-shirts (you could write a saying that your group says or your groups name) then I handed them out to them on Christmas.

walmart usually has cheap yet good smelling lotions, and bubble bath things, i know i would appreciate that. or you could stuff a whole bunch of candy from dollar store like 2 for a dollar stuff like that then buy little bags or clear wrapping paper and wrap em up really nicely.
also if ur getting a gift for more then about 3 friends consider buying a pack of lip glosses from sephora or lasenza ranging from 20-30 $

What I did was found lots of inspiring quotes and messages about friends and funny sayings that may make someone cheer up on a bad day and i also found some friendship sayings and i typed them all up and made a book! then i punched 3 holes and tied ribbons! I also made a bookmark out of ribbon and strung beads on the sides and wrote "friends are only a chapter for a boy....." and on the other side "but a whole BOOK for a girl!" They both look awesome! I cannot wait to give it to her!

I'm going to bake cookies, give snowflake ornaments, and make cards. If you want to make cards that look store bought, and you have younger siblings, get the Disney Pixar card making set.
You can also get Vaseline, lipstick, glitter, confetti, scented oils/extracts, and a baby food jar to make body gel/lip gloss (If making lip gloss, leave confetti out). Mix Vaseline, glitter, oils/extracts, and confetti in baby food jar. Cut off a VERY THIN layer of lipstick for color. Stir in with gloss/gel. Finished!

Make a scrap book of all the pictures you and your friends have taken fomr over the years. they will really appreciate how much work you put in and it will seem that you really cherish your friendship. If your friend isnt in to home made things, and you still dont know what to get them. Talk to them, and ask them quetions, without making it obvious that you are looking for ideas for christmas. You will end up with tons of ideas.

If your Mom has any leftover tins that you get every year filled with popcorn, they can be decorated with fabric or wallpaper to match your friends' bedroom decor and used as a trashcan. It's just the perfect size! You can also xerox photos and decopauge them on there.

How about 'do not disturb' door hangers which you can buy from craft aisles. You can decorate each one in a different style (depending on the recipient) with paint, stickers, etc. Make each one individual and in a style which relates to each friend.

My suggestion, as I have teens on very tight budgets too, are some of the following:
1. Check out a local Dollar Store...not Family Dollar, the ones where everything is $1. My daughter has gotten scrapbook paper, flip-flop notebook journal, duct tape for those who make things with duct tape, they have decorations that you could embellish, etc...just take some time to browse.
2. Frame, or make a frame to go around a picture of you and your friend. Or make a card that frames a favorite picture.
3. Write a poem about your memories together, print it on a pretty scrapbook paper. You can give it alone or framed.
4. Go to Salvation Army or other thrift store on one of their "specials" days and browse. You might find something that you could clean up, fix up, create from, etc for pennies. Here our Salvation Army has a 50% off everything day, or a 25 cent clothing day. Call ahead and ask about their specials. Usually they are weekly.
