Mystic Chai Tea Mix Recipe

I am looking for a mystic chai tea mix recipe. I had a real close recipe to make this mix but I can't find it, it uses unsweetened tea, powdered milk, vanilla flavored coffee creamer, but i cant remember the quantities or other ingredients, anyone have this recipe?

Thanks for all the recipes. We experimented at my house and came up with a variation of Susan's recipe that we think is even closer to the original, and uses almost all of the non-chemical ingredients listed on the Mystic can: For the full recipe, increase the nonfat dry milk powder to double, substitute instant vanilla pudding mix for the vanilla creamer, decrease the cardamom by half, and add 1/4 tsp each anise seed and salt.

Found a replacement! Caffe D'Vita enchanted chai. It calls itself spiced tea latte. Brad Barry Company, ltd. Chico, CA. Customer service # 800-200-5005. or www.caffedvita.com. This is available at a local grocer. Smaller can, only 1 pound but excellent flavor. Grocer originally stocked 1 can at a time, see they have multiples now!

RE: Mystic Chai Tea Mix Recipe

Now that Sam's Club no longer carries the Mystic Chai Tea I was desperately seeking a good recipe so I tried Cathy's. It calls for white sugar, brown sugar and French Vanilla non dairy powder creamer which also has sugar in it and that made it way too sweet. I think if I add more powder milk and non dairy powder creamer it might even out that sweetness. Also, I prefer more flavor so I am going to double the spices. Thank you all for submitting your recipies.

Here are two recipes you may wish to try.

Chai Tea

1/4" ginger root, peeled, sliced thin
1/4 tsp black peppercorns
7 Cups water

6 Tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 Cup milk
Add the fennel/anise, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger,
peppercorns and water to a pan. Bring to a boil, and simmer
5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons loose Darjeeling tea. Steep
for 10-15 minutes. Strain. Place back on heat and add the
honey or brown sugar and the milk. Heat just until boiling.
Serve.

Chai Tea Mix (Makes 8 or 9 cups)
3/4 cup non fat dry milk powder
1-1/4 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1-1/2 cups French vanilla flavored powdered non-dairy creamier

Combine ingredients. Stir in spices.
In a blender or fod processor, blend 1 cup ata time until mixture is the consistency of fine powder.
To serve: Stir 2 heaping Tablespoons Chai Tea mix into mug of hot water. You can 2% milk to make a richer and creamier tea!

Hope they're what you were wanting!

I made this recipe up and believe me, it is better than store-bought. This one is wonderful. I am so glad that I found it. It even helps soothe a sore throat with all those healthy spices.

RE: Mystic Chai Tea Mix Recipe

Instant Chai Tea Mix
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup French vanilla flavored
powdered non-dairy creamer
2 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions
1 In a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar and instant tea. Stir in ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. In a blender or food processor, blend 1 cup at a time, until mixture is the consistency of fine powder.
2 To serve: Stir 2 heaping tablespoons Chai tea mixture into a mug of hot water.

Note:
You may choose to omit the French vanilla creamer, and use 2 teaspoons vanilla extract instead. To do so, mix the vanilla into the sugar, let it dry, then break the sugar into small lumps. Follow the same procedure as above.

You can spice it up even further by adding 1 teaspoon nutmeg and allspice, and 1/4 teaspoon white pepper. Makes 36 servings.
