Home Remedy for Boils

The perfect boil home remedy. Boils are very painful. They swell, get red and very hard. At this point place a small piece of bacon fat to the sore then cover with a larger band aid before going to bed. By the next morning it will have lanced itself or will have the white head on it to lance. I have used this remedy on more than one occasion mine usually lance themselves. I guaranty it to work!

The idea about the "tanning" to help with boils isn't all that far fetched. The lights that are used in tanning beds are strong and penetrate through layers of skin. UVA light has been used in some dermatological disorders like psoriasis. I am not sure of the benefit to "boil" suffers, but it seems worthy to possibly consider it.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

About 2-3 years ago I had one lower back couldent hardly sit with it. I mixed a paste of powdered white clay and water and it dried up overnight. Also for those with sensitive skin and lots of acne it does absolute miracles for acne. I recently became ill with a flu and my face broke out from the stress. I used the pimple stuff with no results. I tried everything then I decided to dig the white clay out of the medicine cabinet left it on the HUGE pimples literally the kind you can't pop and they were dried up just about by morning. Tumeric powder also worked for me but I orally took the powder(really nasty) but it worked after a few days.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

O.k. I just got the core out of my boil (5 minutes ago) and I joined to share.

I used hot compress and carmex for the past 2 days. I would apply the hot rag (put in the microwave for 10-15 seconds) for about 10 minutes. Once it cooled, i'd repeat. This was usually right before bed. Then I'd shower, clean the boil, apply the carmex (didn't have campho phenique) and apply a large bandage over it so it wouldn't get irritated while I was sleeping.

I've had it since the 23rd and started doing the hot compress on the 25th. I originally thought it was just a pimple til it started hurting like hell!!!

I started applying the Carmex on the 26th after reading about campho phenique. I figured they're close enough since I use Carmex for my cold sores.

This was my first boil and I hope it will be my last. I have been under a large amount of stress lately and my diet has been horrible the past week. I think that's where it came from.

Back to the CORE. After searching online for home remedies, I came across a website that had other people stating what they did. One person stated that they used a hot compress for a few days. Then when the boil came to a head (yellow pus at the top), they pulled the skin apart! DO NOT SQUEEZE! THAT ONLY MAKES IT WORSE. However, pulling the skin apart allowed the pus behind the core to come out. It will feel like your skin is tearing..but once you start pulling and see the pus come out, you'll want to continue to do it for the relief.

Then the core slowly started to pop out. literally!!! It was huge! It looked like a fat yellow-greenish booger but meatier. I had to pull the rest out with tweezers and it hurt. It felt like it was trying to hold on or something. If you are able to start pulling on it with tweezers, be sure to grab it at the root (right at the opening of the boil) and pull slowly. You don't want it to break off!! Once I got the rest of it out. it just bled. I took my shower. cleaned it and put some neosporin on it with a large bandaid.

I feel 100 times better than i did an hour ago. It was right on my panty line and hurt when I walked, sat or stood.

I hope this helps someone else. sorry for the long story. I'm just happy it doesn't hurt (that bad) anymore.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

Hot glass bottle is a hot tip. Works for me but try to find methods that work for you as some work while others don't.
Use an empty baby food glass jar. It's wide enough to fit a large purplish/red hard boil. Pour 1/3 with hot boiling water into jar, mixed with Epsom salt. Place over boil. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, Suction will form. Do not lift/move jar off the skin or suction is lost. Tentatively dip boil in hot water several times until cool.

This is not the fun part. Wait 15 to 20 minutes, allow skin to breath & cool down. Repeat the whole procedure. Hot water, suction, dip, & breath. Do this as many times as you can. The boil will 'POP' and gunk can be seen floating in water. Clean with antiseptic soap, cover in gauze to absorb pus. Change gauze every couple hours and be sure to wash hands! DO NOT TOUCH THE PUS, very contagious! This will take at least a week when boil has bursts. Scars and bruise will appear. That will take a month or so to heal. Scars cannot be clear and is life-long mark.

Draw out Salve or Ichthammol Salve 20% works as well. Put a dab on a large gauze. Must cover the boil. Leave on overnight. Repeat with new dressing until the boil bursts. This may take a few days to come to head.

TO AVOID FUTURE BOILS: Check for diabetes or Hidradenitis suppurativa disease with a blood test at your doctor's. Low immune system will be prone to boils/sores.

Eat a small snack box of raisins every day. 1 to 2 raw garlic clove with food a day helps. Avoid simple sugars and treats. Limit white flour, white rice, sugars, sweet stuff, fried foods to none if you can. Try not to eat them everyday. Once every few weeks and don't pig out when you do. Meaning, eat a single hand size amount and that's it! Not the same of each item. 1 small muffin as a treat and no more. Don't have a muffin and pizza or cookie in one day. That's already too much as a treat. Most of all DO NOT stress out!

PLEASE GO SEE A DOCTOR. SOME ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE and some not....hit and miss. IT IS YOUR LIFE and could be something serious!

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

I'm all for home remedies and a lot of these sound really good to me, however, I think the tanning bed one is bollocks! Why would you go and try to get ride of boils with something as damaging to your skin as that? That's just silly! Try the draw out salve...if that fails. see a doctor who can then refer you to a naturist for " all natural" and HEALTHY alternatives. NEVER EVER lance them yourself though, this is just an invitation for infection!

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

After going through nearly every home-remedy on the Web for boils and knowing the pain, what also works if you can't get the black boil cream is vinegar. Soak folded paper or paper towel in vinegar and lay on the boil. Cover the vinegar compress. Not only is the vinegar soothing, but will eventually bring the boil to a head that will burst.

PULL the skin away from the head- DO NOT SQUEEZE it to prevent it bursting further into the skin. It will often open on its own, but pull to oooze the gunk out. It really worked for me after trying many other remedies. While it took a long day to finally raise the head, this was the most painless and effective remedy I found.

The only down side is that if the boil is on a sweat gland (like armpits) that you will smell like vinegar for awhile, even after a shower or two. AND keep the area clean as possible before and after- warm soapy water worked well for me. Sounds too simple, but it really works!

Turmeric and Honey

I found that Turmeric Powder mixed into a paste applied 2 times a day and soaking the boil with warm water is the best solution. For myself, it's burst within 3 days. Haven't heard of these remedies, and will have to consider them in the future. I haven't heard of the dark soda idea, but will try that as well.

Thanks!

I was just wondering on who of you drink Pepsi or even dark pop/soda because my brother use to get boils all the time. Since he changed to drinking clear pop/soda, he hardly gets them now.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

As of right now I have a boil. One of my home remedy is that 1. you can put a copper penny on the core of the boil then on top of that put a piece of fatback on it and 2. get a copper penny put a dab of neosporin on it and then put salt on top and out a band-aid and keep it on there over night and by the morning time you boil should have came to a head. And of course you should always use a hot compress if you think you have a boil because other than these home remedies that is the only way to get ride of them. That and going to a doctor, but i hope this is useful to you as it was for me.

I used black salve and it got the boil to a head and I put hot compress on three times a day. I still have a little hardening and I am trying neosporin right now. I will let you know how it works out.. It shrunk from the big boil to a small almost gone. Love this site..

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

I myself get boils at least 4 or 5 times a year. The best thing I have found to bring them to a head & make them bust is a mixture of Epsom salts & Crisco(the solid kind) put the mixture on a big bandage & cover the boil. Usually in 15-20 min it busts & yes it is quit nasty but it feels alot better. Please anyone reading this. If you cant get the boil to pop on your own with these great home remedies. GO TO THE DOCTOR.

My brother had a boil on his thigh & couldn't get it to pop on its own. He, being a stubborn guy, left it alone. 3 weeks later he had a 104 temp & his leg was swollen 2 times its normal size. He finally went to the ER & was there for 3 weeks. Then had to have a IV permanently in his arm to administer his own Antibiotics for 4 more weeks, because he had gotten a bad Staph infection. So if you cant get the boil to come to a head or pop yourself GO TO THE DOCTOR!

I can say the glass bottle didn't work for me. Mine's finally opened on 7/17. I used campho phenique, very hot towels, kept bothering it until it opened and drained.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

Thanks to everyone who recommended Campho Phenique! You are all angels! I just experienced my first (and hopefully last) boil. After reading all the recommendations people made to try this ointment, I went out and bought some last night. (Hint- it is actually a cold sore treatment, so look in the cold sore aisle at the pharmacy). Sure enough, after applying Campho Phenique to my boil and covering with a large, waterproof bandaid overnight, I woke up to a ruptured boil and some major relief from the pain I've been dealing with for the last week! My plan now is to continue cleaning the area with Dial antibacterial soap before rebandaging often. Now I can get back to my normal life!

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

My mother suffers with boils and my Great Grandmother told her to make a paste using brown sugar and cooking oil. She simply mixes the paste and puts it on the boil at night and in the morning it comes to a head and busts. If it's in an area where the paste won't stay, cove it with some form of plastic because gauze will absorb the oil.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

I had a boil in a rather embarrassing place about a year ago - it was at the top of my butt crack. For the longest time I thought I had bruised my tailbone because a bump didn't form for a while, but I had a great deal of pain. But as time went on, I noticed a large bump forming. One day it got so bad that I sat with a heating pad for a while and then I felt wetness in my underwear, so I thought I had started my period. But when I went to go use some feminine products, I found that my bump popped and was draining the puss by itself. It took quite a while...all I did was stand in the bathroom, dabbing it with hydrogen peroxide as it was draining out, to avoid infection. After it drained, I felt immensely better. Good luck with anyone else who has this problem...it sucks.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

Boy, do really feel for anyone who has these monsters. I have tried most of these remedies and they do work well, my favorite is the Boil Ease. In my past different parts of my body have resembled something out of the plagues of Egypt, I had these so bad. Willing to do anything at all to get rid of these Monsters, I went on a low carb diet.( this was advise from a friend.) I ate veggies and meats and gave up on all sugary drinks and I drank Decaf coffee and tea. Within a week my body started clearing up and as the months went by most if not all of the scars began to vanish along with 60 lbs in 3 months. I was allergic to the caffeine and sugar. This may be a solution for some, everyone is different but it wouldn't hurt to try. Not here to preach, just here to help.
Good luck to all and hope you find what helps you. Believe me, I feel your pain.

I have a little boil in one of the creases in my ear! I can't get to it to pop it or anything. The only thing I can do is get a q-tip with hydrogen peroxide down to it. Please help. I cant fit a band-aid over it and I can hardly put any pressure on it it hurts T E R R I B L Y.
I cant stand it, but I've read some of this remedies on here but I cant seem to fit a band aid down there or any other remedies or coverings. Just help relive the pain. Thank you so much!

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

I have been using Boil Ease for years. It first takes the soreness out, then, it brings the head. I had a cat with an enormous swelling on the whole side of her face I doctored her with Boil Ease, then left her in care of my daughter. My daughter said within 2 days that boil just broke all over her face. Another thing for cats ears is Peroxide. It will boil them out. Cheap and works.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

Hi.
Im looking to see if anyone has a natural remedy for making boils come to head ASAP. I have a Footy Carnival and need it to go away.

I too have a history with boils.

Im 15 and the first boil I got was when I was 7 when I was in the Phillipines.
Then maybe a year later I got another one. As the years went by I started to get huge ones. Ive had them on my face, butt, underarms, legs and arms. They also seemed to come around the summer time.
At the moment I have a huge one on my underarm and it has been the first one in a while. My doctor usually puts me on antibiotics but I dont think they work. I just wait until it comes to a head and then starts to secrete puss. He suggested that I might get them because Im low in iron. But I has a blood test, and that wasnt the case.
When I was 13 my friend recommended that I go to a naturopath. I told her about my boils and the lady put me on a wheat free diet and got me to take natural supplements, and during that time I didnt get any boils.
Ive been wondering if it could be something serious, like that disease mentioned in earlier posts. And is it true that the puss is that toxic?

I hope this site is still running. I've not seen any
postings since 12/2007. I have my first Boil, it's
on the backside of my leg, it is very painful. On Sun.
my husband went to our Pharmacist at Winn Dixie
grocery store for the Black Salve, I placed it on the
Spot, we were not real sure if it was a Boil or not, neither of us had ever seen one. Found out real soon, it is a Big Huge Painful Boil. It came to a head by Tues. and began to bust open. Today is Thurs. and though it is draining some,it totally looks disgusting and is still very painful. I have also been taking Hot Baths to soak it, and keep it covered, the Yuckie stuff draining stinks. Due to the pain lasting so long, and it still being so huge, I'm worried that it could be like someone else had written that there's more than one. I've not seen a Core. Can anyone tell me what that might look like?
And also how long the Boil is suppose to drain? This thing looks really really bad to me.

RE: Home Remedy for Boils

I am currently dealing with a boil on my face. I had been applying tea tree oil to my face to clear it up, but somehow this monster has showed up. It is right above my eyebrow and is extremely painful. My mama gave me some black salve, so I have been applyng it with a bandaid for 2 days. I just took my bandaid off from last night, and I could definitely see a difference. Hopefully this thing is going to surface soon. I have tried all kinds of remedies that I have gotten off the internet to clear up my face because for some reason my face has recently became sensitive and started breaking out. If anyone knows of a good face cleansing line to suggest, please let me know??? I am currently using Arbonne, but I think I need to switch to an acne treatment cleanser. Does anyone know anything about Clenziderm???? Thanks so much!!!

The "bacon fat" has been a remedy for many years! My grandmother always chose to use a copper penny with the bacon fat and then cover with the band aid. I don't know what it is that the copper penny does, but it works! Place the bacon on the boil first, then the penny over the bacon, and the band aid over the penny. By morning all should be well.
