Glue on Bamboo FlooringSusan Jones from Roman Forest, TX Feedback About This Post:RE: Glue on Bamboo Flooring
I finally found something to fix the glue spots on the bamboo floor I put down. Even though I cleaned off the glue immediately, it left small spots. After many trial and errors, I came to the conclusion that it wasn't glue left on the wood but that the urethane glue had actually dulled the finish. I used acetone, mineral spirits, WD40, Old English polish, 0000 steel wool, and many other things looking for a solution. Post by Jim RImmer RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI had the same problem, smudges after getting the glue off with mineral spirits. Tried the super fine steel wool (0000) with WD-40 and the smudges are gone. Work in the direction of the grain. Lots of elbow grease though. Post By Glen (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI had hundreds of cured urethane glue spots and smudges; only 0000 (super fine) Steel Wool with Bostik's Urethane Adhesive Remover worked. Scrub with grain. TEST inconspicuous area first. Do not use SOS pad or any other steel wool other than 0000. Post by mw900rr RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringJust finished using W-D40 on our Bamboo flooring it came off with a spray of W-D40 and a wipe in one minute looks great, I have 2300 sq.ft to do. Post By Jane M. (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringSusan Jones - Did the manufacturer of the glue tell you a product that would get the glue off? We have hundreds of glue spots on 1600 sq. feet of bamboo. Thanks Post By LJ (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI NEED HELP!! had some friends install new bamboo flooring...looks great...however the mess from the glue on the flooring WILL NOT COME UP!!! Tried everything...odorless mineral spirits, bostiks...and not to mention a bunch of other crap!! Is there a way any one knows of to get this off??? PLEASE HELP!!!! Post by flytrista RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI just used canola oil on my bamboo floor! Just use a dab of it & with your finger nail scrap it off and it comes off SUPER easily. Wipe off the excess oil with a cloth, I had a damp one around so that's what I used. It just takes patience. Good grief. Post By A (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI use goo-gone to remove scuffs, oil markers and glue from bamboo flooring. It also works on small carpet spots. Post By Jill (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringHi, I had the same problem. Tried everything. Some of the smears/smudges are very subtle and can be seen at only some angles. These are the ones that are impossible to remove. If anyone has another suggestion, I'm all ears!! Thanks. Post By Chris (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI'm not sure about on bamboo floors, but on hard wood floors you can use mineral spirits on a rag, and the excess glue comes right off with no damage. call the folks who made the mess, it should be under warranty. You shouldn't be stuck with having to worry about it, you didn't do it! Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Glue on Bamboo FlooringI would call the installers and ask for them to return and professionally remove their mess....just a thought.
