Which Artichokes Taste the Best?Ms. Carmen Feedback About This Post:RE: Which Artichokes Taste the Best? You have all been extremely helpful. Here I am, living in Ca., but am not a native and have not been eating artichokes very long. I finally 'got a taste' for these things and knew someone from this website could help out a lot more than just Google. Thanks again. And here's a photo of one variety of Jerusalems ;-) Post by Deeli RE: Which Artichokes Taste the Best?
Jerusalem artichokes grow best in cooler climates and are underground ... Globe artichokes grow best in warm, temperate climates and are above ground ... I am not sure about Jerusalems but Globes take two years or so to produce it's first crop ... Post by Deeli RE: Which Artichokes Taste the Best?
Globe artichokes are the leafy kind. They are green. I don't know where you live, but I know that my aunt in California used to grow them. We do not grow them here in Saskatchewan. Post by louel53 RE: Which Artichokes Taste the Best?My guess is they taste similar and the question is what grows best in your area. If growing them from seed, why not grow both and treat them the same and make your own comparisons. They are very high in potassium and just lovely to eat. Post by PIKKA |
