Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseThanks, Raea from Concord, NC Feedback About This Post:RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the House
I have the exact same issue with a recently adopted Schnauzer. I have two Labs - male and female. The Schnauzer was adopted in June. The dogs all get along great together and everything was fine until about a month ago. The Schnauzer started peeing on everything. He will pee outside and then come back in and hike his leg on my furniture. Post by pjskydiver RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the House
Hi Everyone Post By Robert (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the House
I have a 7 year old male Lab mix. Everything has been fine up to about 3 months ago. Around 6 months ago my granddaughter came and is staying with me, her and her 1 year old female dog. Well my dog did just fine for 3 months. Then he started urinating and then defecating in different rooms in the house. He is getting left out all the time. He has not been caught doing this either, but he is the one. Post By Mary W. (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseI have a 1 1/2 year old chihuahua mix, he's been crate trained since he was 5 months and he has always pee'd and Pooped in the house, I take him out at least 7 times a day but he still goes in the house, and after all that even he will pee in his bed, and this might sound crazy but his pee smells perticularly revolting, even getting a whiff of it down the hall makes me gag.....is there something wrong with him ....what do I do?? My dog has gone blind over the past 6 months. Now she pees in the house right after I let her out, and we leave to go to the store even for 10-15 minutes to get a pack of cigarettes. However, if someone is home, she doesn't do it. She goes out as usual every 3-4 hours, not peeing in the house at all. Why is this? Post By AJ (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseIf this is not normal behaviour for your dog, you may consider taking your dog to the vet. Your dog could have a bladder infection. Post By leigh (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseKim, Take your dog to the vet. Their is a problem if the leg is bothering your dog. Ya she or he gets back on the coach, that is what they do. But the Vet will know the problem. My dog had horrible breath and it was so bad I didn't want her in the same room. I took her to the vet and had two teeth removed and her teeth cleaned and her breath doesn't smell at all. My point is she had a problem! Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseI have two dogs that are brothers, and they are almost 3. They will not stop peeing in the house, we've recently been taking them on a lot more frequent walks, but it only seems to of got worse. My mom said they need to go but my brother and I love them and don't want to let them go. Please if anyone knows what to do let me know, my email is cpropmanager AT yahoo.com thanks Post By Christina (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseI have a 10 year old female rottie that has been housetrained and is now peeing in the house- she has had 5 accidents in the last two weeks. We have lived here for 9 years, and this past fall had to put our 11 year old male rottie to sleep b/c he had cancer... not sure why the female is peeing in the house and not sure how to stop her. She is also having issues with her back right leg, as far as slipping on the hardwoods and not being able to get up so that sometimes she drags her hind quarters around. But she is certainly capable of getting onto and off of the sofa for her naps....anyone know how to get her to stop peeing in the house? I have three small kids and this is becoming quite disgusting! Post By Kim (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseMy doggys (2) do it too. My dad is trying to find a new owner for them but I can't get rid of them, I sleep with them every night. I cried all night when he said it. I can't live without them unless I know they can be trained by a new owner and not sent to the pound. I heard they get killed there. Post By Kendra Torrenga (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseI have a 8 yr old female beagle, that pees in the house, when I am at work. She was properly potty trained and just started doing this about a year ago. I have no idea how to get her to stop doing this. I thought about putting her in her crate again, but that bothers me, because she has not be crated in 7 yrs. I just can not have her peeing in my house anymore. Also the odor is horrible, how do get the smell out of carpeting. I have tried everything, and it still smells. Please help! Post By Cheryl (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the Housemy dog does the same, what can i do he is blind but can see the back door, which is always open"" Post By yvonne (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the Housemy dog does the same thing and she is 3 as well. im starting to think it might be territorial because she just lays in it. even after we let her out she sometimes will lay out in the deck and do the same thing. my mom is just about ready to get rid of her. i have no idea what to do. Hi Raea Post By peaches (Guest Post) RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the House
have you tried making him diapers. Post by CEIL RE: Grown Up Dog Peeing In the HouseWe have a large adult male dog that does the same thing. I've been told that he is just instinctively marking his territory and will probably always do so. We had to make him basically an outside dog. When he comes in to visit or when the weather dictates, he likes to get under the dining table in our family room and sleep. Going with this natural behavior, we put a leash on him and tie the other end to the table leg. When he is ready to go back outside he lets us know by barking. This way he gets to be social and yet does not have the run of the house. We have not had any "marking" incidents since we started doing this.
