Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveJessica from Richmond, KY Feedback About This Post:RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveJessica, simply go into any Sears store, purchase a bottle of Cook Top cleaning creme for smooth top ranges and your problems will be over. That stuff works wonders and all you need do is follow the instructions and use some elbow grease. Good luck. Post by cher228 RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveSOS pads work super well, too. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) Aluminum on my glasstopWe also accidentally burned aluminum onto our glasstop. I've seen many of you suggest a razor blade, but we still can't get it all off. What do we do now? Post By Lindy (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top Stove
I have the same problem with my glass top (black) stove. I put aluminum foil down for a second and it seems that it is baked into the glass. I have used the "glass top" cleaners, I used the razor blade but I haven't tried the oven cleaner that's next. Post By Shari M. (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveI put down aluminum foil on my black glass top stove so the grease from deep frying wouldn't make a mess. The foil is not stuck. Any suggestions on getting it off? I've been scrubbing with baking soda vinegar paste. Using a non abrasive scratch pad. It won"t come off. Post By Enter your name. (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveTry using a single edge razor blade it works well Post by Tonnie RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveFind a organic store and look for Charlies Soap. Buy the bottle with the trigger and spray on cook top and leave for 5 minutes. This cleans beautifully then shine with windex. Take Care. Yes all the other recommendations work but Charlie's Soap is best. Love, Patty Post by patty114 RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top Stove
I have a black glass cook top. I use Weiman cream type cleaner/protectant in a white bottle, also they have scrubbing pads that I use with this to clean stuborn stains. This cleans really good. Just follow directions. Post by roxrex RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top Stove
All I do to clean my glass top is to turn the burner(s) on high and then scrub with a wet rag and it's gone in a jiffy with no chemical use. Post by Deeli RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveI use baking soda. It's abrasive enough to clean the stove surface but not abrasive enough to hurt it. It takes a bit of elbow power ...but it works for me Post by Mirage RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveI also have a glass top stove. The stove top cleaner works best for this surface. If you cannot find it, the main ingredient is alcohol. Try lettings some plain old rubbing alcohol sit on the marks for 10 to 15 minutes- then wash with warm soapy water. Also orange cleaners or lemon juice could be another alternative. Those stubborn burn marks may take a couple of cleanings-letting the cleanser sit for a while makes it come up better. A product called Came0 worked for me. Post By Beverlyt (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top Stove
I second the oven cleaner suggestion. It works even better if you turn the burner on low for just a minute and then turn it off. The surface should be warm, but not so warm that you can't touch it. Then spray on the oven cleaner and let it set for awhile. (If the surface is too warm, the oven cleaner will just evaporate.) Post By Chris (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top Stove
Buy Scotch-Brite BLUE scrubbing pads. Make sure to get the BLUE ones - they are non-scratch. GE actually included a sample with my ceramic topped stove. Wet the area and sprinkle generously with baking soda. Post By Jean from Mississippi (Guest Post) RE: Cleaning Burn Marks Off Glass Top StoveI use oven cleaner. It works great.
