Eagle Quilt
You can use recycled jeans to make a fabulous quilt! The entire background of this Eagle Quilt was made from recycled blue jeans. Bleach, acrylic paints, and different colored jeans make up the landscape and the whole thing was quilted by free motion.

Hi this is so cool the "EAGLE QUILT". Do you have the pattern or know where we can purchase one? My son is about to make his Eagle in Boy Scouts and this would be a neat gift for him. I am just getting started in learning quilting but my mom quilts a lot!

this is beautiful, i wish i had the patience, over the years i have made quilts using sweatshirts, still have one or two but the rest were given to an organization here in town that helps the homeless (over 200 of themquilts that is) , sweatshirt quilts are also very heavy especially when you have to wash them, lol, but i find i cannot sleep without the weight of one now
i have tried to make denim quilts but my sewing machine can't handle the thick seams but i still tend to keep coloured denim jeans that i come across, have no idea what i am going to do with them but some day a use will come to mind

Your quilt is beautiful.
I have been using old recycled jeans for quitea few years now to make quilts. My dad said he liked heavy quilts to sleep under so I sent one of my jean quilts. They are heavy.
Since the seams are bulky in a jean quilt I choose a pattern where the seams do not match. I look at tile floors for pattern ideas.

My dh collects eagles and I would really like a pattern if i could. I dont quilt or sew but could probably find someone to do it for me if you dont sell them. He would love this, it is beautiful.

Hi to everyone and thank you for all of the praise on this quilt! It did take me a long time in the planning stages to figure out how I was going to do it. This quilt was made for my son without a pattern or anything but I did have some photos I used as inspiration. I would probably never be able to realize any kind of profit if I were to sell these quilts because I put so much time into them. I would be happy to share more detailed photos with anyone if you want to e-mail me and I can show you many other blue jean quilts I have made as well if you are interested. This particular quilt did turn out to be very heavy. In fact, I told my son it would probably protect him and his entire family from a nuclear holocaust! Thanks again everyone!

Don't ever WASH it...hang it instead. It's a work of art with the painted background. I've heard of taking children's special colorfast clothing and "preserving" them, almost "as is" in a quilt, so they could both remember, but show others what they wore "back
when". I have several quilts I was given but have never used. Colors are important to me, too. Thank the Creator for giving this gift/skill to pass on to others. It's fantastic!
