Thank-you all for the great ideas! For the bedroom I think I will do the cardboard with fabric,( pelmet) then do a drapery look. In the entertainment room, I really like the idea of tissue paper( like a stain glass look) the sun come thru and it would be pretty. I must say I stumbled on this site by chance, yet I know it will become a definite favorite! Again Thank-you, Elaine

Most home window stores will have the fairly expensive "organ" style (pleated) window curtain. You could do this yourself with either a nice fabric that you can start the stuffing out of, then just fold it back and forth and iron, until it is all folded (so if you picked it up, it would look like a slinky). Then just glue or staple one end, then open the other end and it will be an arch. You could also do this with a scrap of wall-paper or even kitchen shelf paper (leaving the backing in place, so you don't expose the adhesive), as a very inexpensive alternative. - - - Another option would be to go to a local craft store and buy a water soluble craft paint and then cut little pieces of colored tissue (like you stuff in a gift, not blow your nose :). and glue them on the window in the colors of your choice. The sunlight would lightly shine in, but muted. Then in a couple years when you change the room, just wash the window and pick different colors.

I know this sounds nuts, but try it. If your fabric is sheer, hot glue it to the window. I did this once when living in a 7th floor apartment. Didn't need curtains but surely needed to cut the sun glare. I cut them to fit and hot glued it directly to the window. Worked wonders. Kept the sun out and some of the heat, too.
When you want to change decors, the hot glue will just roll off the glass, no problem

To retain the lovely arched shape of the windows you could cut out some cardboard in the arch shape, slightly larger than the window, (to fit to the wall surrounding it), with a straight bottom just below the curves of the arch to 'square off' the top of the window. Cover the cardboard with curtain material, (using craft glue), to form a sort of pelmet and attach to the wall with velcro dots. Hang the curtains themselves either from the bottom inner edge, (toward the window), of the pelmet if they are sheer light fabric or on a rail from wall to wall just under the edge of the pelmet so you can't see the rail from the room.

I recently remodeled a few windows using a maroon sheer fabric that was 50%off. You could attach a few hooks or knobs to the wall and drape the fabric over it. It looks elegant with the way in which the fabric folds and you have spent very little money. Hope this helps!
