Have you checked under the seats? I had a zuchinni roll under a seat and it smelled like sewer until I figured it out. Luckily I only had to clean with carpet cleaner to get the stench out.

I had that smell once. Turned out to be some worms left in the trunk that had died and stunk up the whole car.
Of coarse I scrubbed the car inside top to bottom before I figured that one out.
