Cat Not Using Litter Box
Now he is doing fine with that, but a few days ago, I left laundry that I had been seperating on the floor and came home to find he had peed all over it. Over the last few days he hasn't used his litter box for urine even once and I found pee in my desk chair. Please help, I clean the litter box every day, don't used strong chemicals or perfumes and have it in a private place. I am at my wits end.
He has been to a vet and it is not a UTI. Any suggestions would be appreicated.

My two cats have always been trained to use the litterbox but just recently we have found that they have been also going in the back living room office. My advice to anyone who is having this problem is
1. If you catch your cat going someplace else, make it clear to them that what they are doing is wrong by chasing them away.
2. Get whatever they went on cleaned very well so that they can't smell it.

My cat started to pee on the couch. We got rid of the couch then the cat started to pee on the chair beside it. We tried some kind of spray from pets mart. It worked for a day but then she went back to peeing on the chair. What's the best product to use to get her to go back to the litter?
Please help, my mom is giving her away soon :(

I have 3 cats 2-10 yr old un-neutered males who only go in the litter box and a very DIRTY 5yr old neutered male cat who pees everywhere but in the litter box. I change the cat litter box 2 times a week and I scoop the poop everyday. I bought to boxes to avoid the urge to pee somewhere else. Nothing seems to matter. My neutered male pees on my tv stand, my carpet and on my couches. He use to pee in the dirty laundry and in clean clothes. We have recently moved and he has no access to the clothing. I am wondering if he perhaps isn't neutered properly or maybe he is angry because we moved or that we have a dog. Granted we have had the dog for almost 4 yrs, I doubt that is the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions..other than the rubbing his nose in it...because I have tried that and it just makes things worse. I am currently spreading pepper on my carpets, but don't really want to spread pepper on my tv stand or on my couches.
Anyway suggestions would be helpful.

Hello~
Well, I have a 10 week old male kitten that won't use the box. I have placed 4 of them around our home. He keeps going in the bathroom on the bath rugs. I love him to death, but am at my wits end with this. I have read other suggestions and they sound great. I have tried the other suggestion, all but the "Cat Attract" one.

Go to PetSmart and buy the cat litter called Cat Attract.

Thank you so much for your advice. I will give practical pets a try. Sorry for any misunderstanding on my part, I didn't think anyone was accusing me and took no offense. A friend of mines kitten had a botched declawing job and it was awful for him. I know it works great for some people, I just don't think it is necessary in my situation (with a three year old, it isn't like I have the greatest furniture anyway...LOL) thanks again to everyone, and I will keep trying to figure this out.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request. To answer a few of the questions. No, he hasn't been declawed (I think it is just too cruel). He has a lot of different toys, including clawing posts, dangling toys, balls, cloth mice and a wheel with cardboard in the middle and a ball that runs around the outside (which by the way is a GREAT toy and he loves it). We only got him a few weeks ago and none of our habits have changed (we stick to a pretty regular schedule). I have changed litter brands twice and they were both unscented. Sorry for being so difficult...any additional advice would be appreciated. Thanks again

Your cat might also be peeing in places that have your scent on them, if he is mad at you. Do you leave him home alone for long stretches of time?
He may be bored and mad that he's home a lone so much. Does he have any toys to play with, or things to do while you are not there?

My mother in law has a VERY bad cat who pees on everything, she bought this kitty litter with a chemical that attracts the cat. She says the cat has not urinated in anything but her box since buying the kitty litter. I think she got it at the vet, maybe you should call Petsmart and ask.
I had a cat peeing in clothes baskets, I dont know if this is true but the vet told me my cat was too dumb to distinguish between the fact he is supposed to pee in one plastic box and not another plastic box. I just keep the baskets in my bedroom and do not allow him in that room. My house rule is "if you live here and do not have thumbs, you are not allowed in the bedroom."

Hi Michelle,
Is he neutered? Does your brand of litter have those nasty "deodorizing" things in it?
I scoop my litter regularly and see no need for chemicals which will burn their eyes and noses. Also, ask your Vet for suggestions.

Have you changed brands of litter? Some cats are so picky they won't use a litter they don't like.
