Real Fruit Scrubs

I would really like to make some scrubs out of "real fruit" such as bananas, strawberries, papaya, etc. Can these type of scrubs be preserved and how? And will it actually scent the scrub or would it be to faint?

Thanks!

RE: Real Fruit Scrubs

These types of scrubs can be preserved. 2-3 drops of grapefuit seed extract will do the trick or puncture 1 or 2 capsules of vitamin E and pour the oil from there right into the mixture. Vitamin E capsules are available in the drugstore cheaper and easier to find and if you dont want to buy a whole bottle, they are also sold lose so you can buy exactly what you need. Along with fruit scrubs, you might want to try adding some honey and/or oatmeal with that its great for the skin. Extracting oil from 1 or 2 capsules of eveningprimrose is good for firming and skin and improves texture and tone. Essential oils can be used for a nice scent to the scrubs. Grapefruit seed extract is sold in health food stores are anywhere essential oils are sold.
