Removing Fabric Imprint On Table

Something sticky seeped through a table runner onto my dining room table. It has stripped off some of the color and left the imprint of the fabric. It smells like a liquid room freshener. How do I get it out?

Essential oil. You can't get out, but you could use those wood markers to cover it as best you can.

Can you lightly sand the area?
