Elastic for Sewing

Next time you need elastic for that sewing project but don't have any on hand, just grab the old panty hose or knee highs and cut the band off the top. Makes great elastic! And it's FREE!

RE: Elastic for Sewing

I want to replace the elastic in the waste of my good slacks. I've removed the old and thrown it away. However, how do I measure off the correct amount for the new elastic?

RE: Elastic for Sewing

For about 30 years I've used the elastic from worn out support hose to go in the top of slacks I've made. They out last the slacks. Sometimes I take it out of worn out slacks and put it in new slacks. I haven't bought elastic in 30 years. If I donate slacks I don't like, I take the elastic out.

RE: Elastic for Sewing

How can I sew new elastic on old fitted sheets to repair them. the elastic is all stretched out now.
I don't want to throw out the sheets, but I want to have them have some elastic to grab onto the corners.
