How do I remove candle wax residue from wood/veneer floors?

Aim your hairdryer at it to heat it up a little and then just pick it away. Could also push it away with a credit card or something after it's warmed up.

freeze the wax with ice cubes and scrape up brittle frozen wax with a plastic spatula.

Pile a quarter inch of Kleenex onto the wax stain, then park a clothes iron on itand set it for "wool".
Let it sit for 5 minutes then check. If the kleenex turns brown under the iron, it's a bit too hot. Excessive heat does not help, it just takes time. In 5 - 10 minutes the wax will have been wicked out of the wood and into the Kleenex.
Avoid thinners or alcohol or solvents. They will just drag the wax deeper into the wood.
