Removing Mold and Mildew From BoatCarrie from San Diego, CA Feedback About This Post:RE: Removing Mold and Mildew From BoatDo not put clorine bleach on a fiberglass boat! It will promote oxidation and dull the finish in a hurry! There are mildew removal products that are safe for humans and the environment and are available at the boat yard or West Marine or Overtons for just a few bucks. The products will remove the stain and will protect the finish on the vinyl and the gelcoat of the boat. Scrubbing with a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge does a really good job on mold removal from hard surfaces and leather and vinyl cleaner and conditioner will normally remove the stains from the seats. Never oil vinyls because oil will make the vinyl hard. For proper cleaning, sprinkle baking soda or vinegar on rough damp cloth. then, wash with a very mild dish washing soap. (Guest Post) RE: Removing Mold and Mildew From BoatThere is a great environmentally safe cleaner that removes mold and mildew from wood, plastic, composite, cloth, vinyl, aluminum, brick and more. Hello Carrie, Post by patti r RE: Removing Mold and Mildew From BoatBleach works but so does a product called Oxyclean. We buy it at Costco. Post by Lady BE From BoatMold can usually be killed with a mixture of bleach and water. One part bleach to 3 parts water. If needed a stronger solution up the bleach and reduce the water. Spray a small amount on the mold to see if the mold is killed. Be aware bleach on metal such as copper and brass can be etched into the metal and will discolor it. Rinse with water as soon as the mold is dead. Post By .deanj (Guest Post) RE: Removing Mold and Mildew From BoatGet a spray bottle and put a bleach mixture in it. Post By rod (Guest Post) |
