Removing Candle Wax From Clothing

I just splashed candle wax all over my brand new cotton shirt. My shirt has gold hearts and stars on the front, kind of like decals, or whatever they are called. Can someone help me save it without removing the decorative hearts and stars?

I cleaned up wax from my carpet with the ironing technique and then I forgot to wipe my iron. My husband then tried to iron his shirt and now there is blackish brownish stuff on the collar. Any ideas on how to get rid of that?
