Cleaning Wax From Ceramic Tile

Hi, I recently bought this house and the homeowner before had used wax on her ceramic tile in the bathroom. My problem is that the grout below the wax has dirt in it and I want to take the wax off and clean the grout also. What is the best thing to use? I have tried some chemicals, but it takes alot of scrubbing and it really isn't working?

Peroxide for the dirty cracks.

Having done a bit of household remodeling, I recommend regrouting the area entirely. Hardware stores sell a tool for removing grout between tiles for just a few dollars and regrouting is very simple, you just wipe it on and wait, then polish the tile when dry. If you don't mind skipping a shower for one day, it's a worthwhile project - and you won't have to use quite so much elbow grease or chemicals!

Hello- I would try heating the wax with a hair dryer and wiping it off. As
for the grout, I think I have heard people say that vinegar works; bleach
also should work. - Karen

Have you tried ammonia? I know it smells to high heaven, but I have always had good luck with it.
Hope this helps.
