I just made some lip gloss by mixing petroleum jelly, lipstick and essential oils Equal parts petrol, jelly and lipstick and drop or two of essential oil throw it in the microwave for one minute and thirty seconds, mix it all up, let it set and you are good to go.

this is how you can make your onw lipgloss:
1) 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil.
2) 4 tablespoons of grated beaswax.
3) 1 tablespoon honey.
4) 6 capsules pure vitamin E oil.
5) 1/4 teaspoon cocoa butter.
6) 2/3 drops essential oil (peppermint or sweet birch are nice.)
Just mix all the stuff together and scoop the goop into some 1/2 ounce tins

Petroleum Jelly is really getting a bad name. Though there aren't any studies to support these negative claims. Oil is natural. I'm not sure why everyone is saying it is bad. Many' natural' ingredients are processed in a similar manner. Do some research...It's all propaganda from the 'natural' products....

if you want moist without grease (not everyone wants shiny lips)-- try vegetable glycerine
use it everywhere

As many postors have said, avoid petrolleum jelly -- in fact read the ingredients and if they include any mention of "petrol"-ANYTHING, pass them by. Petrolliates are derived from oil -- you know, that sticky black stuff that makes gasoline? Used as industrial lubricants, they are unsuitable for use on flesh.
Stay with the more naturally ocurring substances -- vitamin E, aloe vera.

Don't do it!! Use Vitamin E gel caps and just pop a hole in them to release the juice. Slather your lips at night and in the morning they'll feel great.

DO NOT use petroleum jelly. As the previous poster says--it is drying--in many adults, and it's a moisture barrier.
Dry lips need moisture--that's oil or cream. Aloe is very healing. Cocoa butter is moisture. So is mayonnaise and canola oil. Grape oil is good, too.

Use cheap dollar store no name brand vaseline for the best lip gloss especially for people over 30.

Lip glosses with petroleum jelly will actually dry your lips out after it has worn off. Natural glosses with coco butter & aloe work great. Aveeno has a great lip treatment also.
