Removing Ink From Red LeatherMichelle Feedback About This Post:RE: Removing Ink From Red LeatherAntibacterial hand sanitizer worked like a charm. I massaged a small amount onto the stain with my finger tip...ballpoint ink is gone and leather is fine, no discoloration. Post By Barbara (Guest Post) RE: Removing Ink From Red LeatherFor general cleaning of a red leather skirt, I used Dr. Bronners liquid pure castille soap. Pick the scent you like...I used lavender. It's all natural and contains no detergents. It removed NONE of the color and all of the crud except ink. It also conditioned the leather. Just put it on full strength without water and massage w/ a dry cloth. I tried alcohol and it removed lots of color, but no ink. I also tried hairspray and it removed some of the ink, and a little of the color. Post By Brooke (Guest Post) RE: Removing Ink From Red LeatherI have a soft red leather purse by Coach (very expensive $500) and I marked it with a black ball point pen. I used antibacterial on a kleenex to remove it. It took the pen mark right off. As I applied it I pored water over it to remove the alcohol from the purse as soon as possible. It did remove the ink and SOME of the red color (barely) off the purse. I wished I applied the antibacterial to a Q-tip instead of a kleenex and rubbed it off softly in layers with the water. I'm pretty sure red shoe polish will buff it right out. Post By kelli (Guest Post) RE: Removing Ink From Red LeatherI've always heard that hairspray removes ink.
