Digital Camera Reviews

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, easy to use digital camera; hopefully not hideously expensive? I'd like to buy one for my husband and I know nothing about them and he's the first to admit he's far from hi-tech.

All I have to say is DON'T buy SONY. I've gone thru two that I absolutely loved & took care of, but BOTH ended up getting little, hinky problems that aren't worth the high cost of repair. The Cybershot got a "lens error" out of nowhere! Just one day quit working because of a "lens error" & I found that MANY other people had the same problem & were posting on the internet & there was no solution except send back to Sony for a fix at a minimum charge of $130.00.!

My lovely Sony Handycam developed a Memory Stick problem. It locked 'em up so I couldn't do ANYTHING to clear them. I'm on my 5th $25.00 memory stick & all of a sudden the LCD panel & viewfinder are black....I get the menu items, but can not see anything in my room thru them. I discovered on the internet where there's a Class Action Lawsuit for bad CCL's whatever that is, it causes the black screen; so I've got a return authorization for them to fix it free, thank God(ness) cuz I can NOT afford a new one!

ANYHOW, don't buy Sony--they're fabulous, but when they go bad--they're TERRIBLE!

RE: Digital Camera Reviews

I hate having to go back and constantly read directions on technical stuff so I wanted something that was easy to use and not have to keep re-reading the directions on. I found it this past weekend. It is a brand carried at stores like Target and Best Buy and Circuit City (maybe even Walmart). I don't have it with me at the moment so I can't tell you the name but think it's something like Argus or something like that...definitely starts with an A. It cost about $99 retail and then you had to get flash cards to insert for storing the photos. This one is both a digital camera and a movie camera. I love it! It is so simple to use and I didn't have to read a long drawn out technical booklet to start using it right away. Oh, and I got the flash disks at Circuit City because they had a special of $19.95 each (I bought 2) of 2 gig disks. I would have paid $49.95 for the cheapest one at Target along with the camera so buying 2 at CC was a great buy. I hope that helpsl!

RE: Digital Camera Reviews

I found a Concord 4 mb with all kinds of special effects including short movie bytes and close-up lens for under $150 about 2 years ago. It's good enough to use on my journalism job, where the pix are published in newspapers and magazines. I think it came from WalMart. Good luck!

RE: Digital Camera Reviews

Here is a site that has reviews. You can just read the conclusion if there is too much info and they have samples of photos taken with the camera.
