In Memory of Boots
Boots liked to jump in the bathtub and splash in the water after I got out of the shower, loved to chase things that the kids would throw for her, loved to be petted! She liked to eat Pringles, tuna and chicken. Boots died on January 28 this year, very peacefully and calmly. I still can't believe that she is gone. I wanted to share her story with everyone, and remind you to love your pets while you can, they leave us way too soon. R.I.P Boots. By Melanie from Ontario, Canada Feedback About This Post:RE: In Memory of BootsI read your piece about Boots and it made me Tear up. I am so sorry for your loss. It makes me think about my 2 cats who are my children 2 male cats both are indoor cats (Thank God for that) but I know they will not live forever and when they pass I don't know how I would deal with it at all I am 47 and live with my Fiance & my two boys Coco and Boot just Boot is his name. They are brothers & this month they will both be 8 years old. That is in our years. When I lose either one of them, I will be totally devasted. They are "My Best Friends." Their Love is Un-Conditional. And if I feel ill or sad they sense it & try to change it. I have never had a pet that has passed. They either had to be given away and they didn't tell us kids until afterwards. And my ex-husband kept my 2 cats when we divorced. I have never had any pet that has passed. And I just might need theraphy when one of them does go. I am attached/hooked with a cord to Coco he hates it when I go ot of our Apartment he'll wait in that window until I come home says my Fiance. And when I am gone at a girlfriends visiting I'll be there for 2 maybe 3 hours then I bug to come home. I never stay gone over nite, I quit going out of town I use the Honest Excuse I can't leave them for that long. I know it must be really hard. And I need to plan for one day when it's their time and in the mean time try to learn about just how to prepare myself for it. But, honestly try not to think about it much. Again I give you my Blessings for Boots he was a Handsome Fellow with a very thoughtful & considerate owner who didn't just forget him once he was gone, you put him in A Memorial all of his Own. I know you loved him. And he knew you loved him and that is all that matters! Bless you Both Boots in the Heavens & you on this Earth! Sincerely my Sympathy, Blingqueen99 AKA Nita Post by Blingqueen99 RE: In Memory of BootsI am so sorry for your loss. I have lost several pets because of old age. One especially is very dear to my heart. His name was Sam, a black lab mix. We got him as a puppy. Our house caught fire one morning at 2 AM. Sam saved my life and our other two dogs by barking and alerting us. We made it safely out of the house. Sam was a hero to me. Sam was about 12 when he passed (four years after the fire). Knowing he had a wonderful home filled with love should help ease your pain. So many others never have that so I am hoping you will help heal the pain by adopting another kitty who needs your love Post by makm33135 In Memory of BootsWhat a lovely way to remember Boots! I just lost my rabbit, Little Bon, in February, and I needed to have the sympathy of others, and find that celebrating the life of animals in this way is such a healthy way to get through the process. Boots was beautiful, and it sounds like he lived a good life with lots of enjoyments. I dearly miss Little Bon, who was in my life for 7 years, and I hope that he is incredibly happy where he is. I can understand how you feel. I lost my dog Penny 1 1/2 years ago. She was 13 when she passed away. Post by Pennypacer RE: In Memory of BootsMy 20 year old cat died yesterday, so I know just how devastated you feel. Post by Myrtle May RE: In Memory of Boots
What a lovely and lucky cat she is. So sorry for your loss. I am so thankful for my pets - I agree, we should never take their sweetness and innocence for granted. Those of us who have been blessed with love from a family pet are so lucky. Post By Leah (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsWhat a wonderful kitty! Please know I am thinking about you and your loss of your little friend. I have a kitty who is 16 and I know I will miss her too when she goes. Take care of yourself. Post by jwrh626 RE: In Memory of BootsBoots was (and is) beautiful. Pets are such a blessing! I know you have wonderful memories. Post By Janet45101 (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsWhat a beautiful kitty. Treasure your memories of Boots and in time the pain will give way to warm thoughts. All my best. Hannah Post By Hannah (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsMy sympathy on the loss of your cat, Boots. I have two cats, Christmas, 19, and Stumpy, 16. I know how you must feel. Post By jean (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsWhat a beautiful kitty and what a treasure she was to be a staff member for. I honor your pain which, while it will become less as time goes by, will never totally die out. This is the rose to our sweet animals who gave us so much pleasure and happiness. They are our blessing, even though we are but their staff. Dogs have owners but cats have staff. We still mourn and long for our first two kitties who died years ago. Thank God we had them in our life. You have our empathy and our understanding. What beautiful sweet eyes Boots had. Post By Angellface. (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsWhat a beautiful cat! My daughter also had a Maine Coon that "found" us a motel while we were on vacation. That was in 1992 and Boo passed away in March of 2007. She was a wonderful cat and we still miss her. No one can take her place but we still love our other cats. Memories are good but they can make us sad too. Post By cybergrannie. I'm sure you've gotten plenty of responses to your story. I just had to write to tell you that Boots was really lucky to have you to take care of him all those years. I am a huge animal (cats, dogs, you name it) lover. I currently have 5 cats and they are all as spoiled as could be. Each one has their own personality, and I thoroughly enjoy all of them. I really enjoy teaching my grandson to be kind to them. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope you are able to spread your love to another needy animal in the future. We really need more people who realize that it is our privilege to have such wonderful animals to be our friends. Post By Cindy (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of Boots
The following poem gave me great comfort many years ago: Post by Maryeileen RE: In Memory of BootsI feel for you, as I have had many cats in my 55 years, many of them living into their teens. It's so sad when they pass on. I've got a cat named "Boots" now. He's part Siamese and thinks he is King of the House! Well, I guess he really is! Anyway, I've got 2 other cats too that are also my "babies." Just love them while we can, and when they go, know that they were loved while here on earth. Post By Linda in Alabama (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsSympathy to you on the loss of your dear pet Post By Graycrab (Guest Post) RE: In Memory of BootsI am quite sure that alot of the members have lost a pet, so we know how heart broken you must be. I lost my BooBoo kitty last Memorial Day. He was just 4yrs old. He had a bad heart. I still could cry. He was one of the sweetest cats that I have ever had. In 41 yrs of marriage, I have lost a number of kitties and they all have a special place in my heart. I have brought alot of strays in and loved them and took good care of them. Once they hit our home, they would never know a cold or hungry day in their little lives. Cheers to your wonderful Boots. Post by malinda | ||
