Toilet Brush TipBy Dee K. Feedback About This Post:RE: Toilet Brush TipGotta a question and a bet about the Toilet Brush. Does anyone else spray the toilet brush with disinfectant and rinse it with boiling water after cleaning the toilet????? Post By jeanimac3D (Guest Post) RE: Toilet Brush Tip
OK in theory but in practice placing the brush in boiling water will not sterilise it - if boiling was a reliable method of sterilisation hospitals would still be doing it for their surgical instruments! Keeping anything in water, even with bathroom cleaner added, is a good environment for bacterial growth which needs moisture. A much better method is to let your brush dry out completely between uses. Remember this is a toilet brush we are talking about - there is no earthly reason why anyone would need to sterilise their toilet brush. The over use of chemicals in a futile attempt to unnecessarily 'sterilise' things like toilets and toilet brushes is damaging waterways. Save your money and save the environment! Post by Jo Bodey RE: Toilet Brush TipGood idea! Would just like to add that instead of squishing loads of cleaner all around the pan, it is just as effective to squirt it directly onto the brush - and you won't use half as much.
